Unopposed Units

The question is: Are units in home considered unopposed? or just the units in any battle with no units opposing him?

"Unopposed" means, "no opposed." Any unit that is not opposed is "unopposed."

Units at home don't have armies opposing them, so they are "unopposed."

Several Questions

If I slap a Sword of Gales, which says "this personality has a mimimum chi equal to his printed chi" onto Bayushi Kamnan, am I still able to meet the cost of losing 2 chi to use Kamnan's ability?

If an effect prevents you from actually having Kamnan's Chi wind up 2 lower than where it was when you started to pay, you've failed to pay the cost.

Does P'an Ku's ability to copy someone's printed chi effectively "reset" his chi from any permanent chi penalties?

No. It changes his printed value. All existing penalties and bonuses to his current Chi are still working.

If P'an Ku is out and I slap an +3F item on him, and then use his ability to copy someone's printed force of say, 6, will he have 6F or 9F, and why?

9F

6F (printed) + 3F = 9F (current)

Anchor the Line says: "Reaction: After a unit you do not control moves to the current battlefield, bow a card you control in the current battle: Target a card in the unit that moved that has no attached cards. Destroy it." The line that says 'Target a card that has no attached cards'...does this effectively mean that I can only target Personalities with no attached cards? Can I target followers and items with this action?

Attachment is a one-way street. Items, Followers, Spells, and Ancestors are attached to Personalities. Personalities are not attached to them, nor are them attached to each other by virtue of being attached to the game Personality.

In essence, a Follower or Item never has any attached cards, and thus is always good to hit with Anchor the Line.

Bowing a unit

If an action like Direct Assault required me to bow a unit, could I choose to bow a unit that already had bowed cards in it?

A unit is a Personality and all his attached cards. Direct Assault requires that you bow the unit to pay the cost. If you can't bow all the cards in the unit at that time (because some are bowed, in this case), you can't use that unit to pay the cost.

What about Kaneka? If my opponent wants to use Kaneka's ability to bow one of my units, but all of my units in the battle have at least one bowed card in them, would that mean there are no legal targets for Kaneka to choose from?

That's an effect, not a cost. You can bow a unit with bowed cards with an effect. It attempts to bow every card in the unit. It fails to bow any card that is already bowed.

On: Kaneka
Ogedei Q2

OK, in November, I asked about Ogedei being affected by -X Chi tokens. But, people are disputing about other ways of Chi death. By his trait, is he immune from someone else using Written In Blood, Daigotsu Dojo, Shukumei, or any other current card that just creates a non-token Chi reduction?

Written in Blood, Daigotsu Dojo, and Shukumei are all cards. Their effects can't reduce Moto Ogedei's Chi if they are owned by a player other than Ogedei's controller, as per his card text: "Ogedei's Chi may no be reduced by effects from cards other players own."

Nobumoto and raid

Raid atack: only nobumoto assigned to attack and no defending units. Does Nobumoto (force0) win the battle ? Can be Aramasu's pride gold production raise used ?

No. 0 Force (the total of your Army's force) is not greater than 0 Force (the total of the Defender's side, which has no units).

Chieko and Make Your Stand

Just thought I'd point out that if you're playing out of Kyuden Doji, you could make Chiyeko a courtier, so then it would act like a second, better Brutal Confrontation.

Does this work?

Yes, assuming Chieko is targeting herself to be the challenger.

Can she be targetting by the cost of bowing a courtier when I can't pay that cost inistally as well ? (even if she'll unbow before the issuing happens)

She straightens in time to pay the cost associated with getting the challenge issued. She isn't worded well though.

1. unopposed units. 2. kubune scouts.

1. what classifies as unopposed units. A. personalities assigned to provences without a unit opposing them. B. option A. and personalities at your home that are not assigned.

Anyone who is not opposed.

2. Kubune scouts. A. do their ability still work when there bowed in a battle.

That's not an ability. It is a trait. It does not matter if it is bowed.

B. do their ability stack (aka if i have 3 K. scouts in a battle does the opponent have to discard 6 cards to play a terain)

Yes.

That should cover everything from Sunday. If I missed your question, please repost it with the flag [RULES] as part of your Clear and Distinct subject line. I'll get back to you at the first opportunity.
