The Rules for Sunday, November 14, 2004

Will Roadside Shrine pay 3 for a Cav Follower off of Utaku Meadows, since follower tokens are considered cards?

No. You are not paying the Follower's Gold cost (which is 0). You are paying the Gold cost of an ability on a Region.

Infinite combo

Well, with the rising number of inifinite combos (at least 2 from Dawn on ;) ), I was wondering how I would play such a combo. For example can I say "ok, I do 10 thousand times this action, interrupt whenever you want", or not ? That is the basic question (because, I haven't the time to actually make the action 10 thousand times, so if I can't play the action that way, I will be far more limited ).

You either state a finite amount of times you are using the action or a judge gives you a game loss for stalling.

Pan Ku is my friend, not yours

If I use Pan Ku to copy the Loyal trait, can my opponent Show of Good Faith him over?

According to Jeff's email to me about the Loyal trait:

"Loyal: When a Personality has the Loyal trait, he or she will not join you unless he or she is aligned with your Faction. You cannot overlay a Loyal Personality over another if you are not playing a Faction that the Loyal Personality is aligned with."

So, unless P'an Ku gains a Faction Trait, a "Loyal" P'an Ku is theft-proof.

Egg of P'an Ku & Konishiko

Going by the ruling for Shoshuro & the Egg, If I Egg Konishiko, does that mean I can add a second political open or limited action?

Yes. After it enters play, the Egg gains text that says: "Reaction: After [this card] enters play or overlays: Once per game ..."

You've met the timing requirement, so you can play the Reaction for that Action's effects. They are not "entering play effects," but rather an Action's effects where the Action just happens to get played afterwards in response to the Egg entering play.

You have not used that Ability yet this game (each occurrence of an Ability is distinct from any other Abilities, even if they have identical text), so the "Once per game" will not get in your way either.

That should cover everything in the Rules for Sunday that doesn't require me to give an answer regarding cards in Web of Lies. If I missed your question, please repost it with the flag [RULES] as part of your Clear and Distinct subject line. I'll get back to you at the first opportunity.
