Values isn't specified or missed
Hello,
Hi
My opponent resolved the Event Festival of the River of Stars. He choose "River" as the word.
If the following cards - Black Finger River (Region) - Pulse of the Black River (Event) are revealed in my Provinces, what Gold cost have them?
A) 2 Gold cost B) no Gold cost, because the Region and Events hasn't a specified Gold cost, then Festival of the River of Stars couldn't increased it by two.
The answer would be "B." Festival of the River of Stars tries to increase their Gold Cost, which is an unlisted value, and fails to do so.
Explored Terrain
Just wondering whether Explored Terrain targets.
Explored Territory says, "Battle: The next time one of your cards in this battle (other than Explored Territory) would be destroyed by a card effect, negate the destruction and draw a card."
"If something cancels an action, it does not automatically target what the canceled action was going to affect. Similarly, if something negates an effect, it does not automatically target what the negated effect was going to affect. [Extension from Bayushi Kwanchai Experienced, ML, 19 April 2004]" (Accumulated Rulings, "Canceling and negation")
Explored Territory does not target the card whose destruction it negates.
Kitsuki Kiyushichi and Do Not Delay the Inevitable [REVERSAL]
The Rules Team went over this one and Jeff checked with Dave.
Kitsuki Kiyushichi can work against Do Not Delay the Inevitable. He does not prevent you from refusing, but rather somehow alters your decision after you've already refused.
This is a REVERSAL.

In Search of the future and Tenshu Sensei
If I play In Search of the Future in a battle with opposed berserkers' controlled by a player with Tenshu Sensei, what happens to their force bonus from the sensei?
I think it gets removed, then immediately regained.
No. The +2 Bonus to each opposed Berserker is reduced to a +0 Bonus. The bonus effect is still there, it is just reduced.
If you wanted to actually remove the Bonus, and then introduce the effect anew to your Personality, you'd have to make the Berserker in question ineligible for the Bonus effect, then eligible again.
You could, for example, move the Berserker to another battle where he is unopposed (ending the effect of Tenshu Sensei on him) and then move him back into this battle, opposed (start a new effect of Tenshu Sensei on him for a fresh +2F bonus).
That should cover everything from Wednesday, October 13, 2004. If I missed your question, please repost it with the flag [RULES] in as part of your Clear and Distinct subject line. I'll get back to you at the first opportunity.
