Question for {Marty}
1. Players A's army which consists of an Ashura and a Voitagi opposes player Z 's army which consists of a bowed Ashura and a bowed Votagi. Now we got to resoulution. When player Z's Ashura is destroyed by resolution. Player Z targets player A's Ashura with his Ashura's effect. What happens now? Is players Z's Votagi a legal target for player A's Ashura or must player A destroy his own Votagi?
He's got to destroy his own Voitagi, since it is the only one still in play. Battle Resolution will destroy the losing Ashura and Voitagi at the same time, so neither will be valid choices for a retaliatory Ashura effect.
2. Iron Pillar and Suiteiru no Oni.
If I destroy Suiteiru no Oni while he is part of an army to activate his ability while Iron Pillar is in play, and then use Iron Pillar to negate his destruction. Is the cost of his open action still payed? Does it resolve? Are the tokens created?
If you Negate the destruction, then Suiteiru no Oni's cost has not been paid. You can either destroy him again, or do nothing and the Action is canceled.
You won't get any tokens in any case unless Suiteiru no Oni actually gets destroyed.
Hitomi Dojo and CoR
Could I use the Hitomi Dojo's ability to circumvent the restrictions on Kiho casting set by City of Rememberance? i.e. Isawa Bob wants to cast a Kiho, CoR says Shugenja can't cast Kihos, so could I bow the Hitomi Dojo and make Bob cast it as if he were a monk?
Casting as a Monk won't blank out any other traits on the card. You're still a Samurai / Shugenja / Courtier / whatever. If there is an effect that says "Personalities with Trait X can't do something" only removing that trait or suspending / ending the effect will allow you to do it, not giving you extra traits.
Speaking of Utemaro [Rules]
If I bow a holding that produces (say) 3 gold do I get to make 3 followers or 1?
3 because I'm making 3 gold, or 1 because I pay for the first follower and the remaining gold is taxed away before I can spend it?
Just one. You can only pay one cost at a time, and the surplus after payment is taxed away.
Superior Stance question
The Question is does the "negate all other effects of refusing" include canceling the duel or not? I can see it both ways and am just looking for a strait answer.
You're confusing things. Refusing the Challenge does not Cancel anything. Duels aren't created unless the Challenge is accepted. Nothing is canceled. The Duel simply is not created.
No, Superior Stance gives you your honor and eliminates things like the "dishonor and lose 7 honor" part of Iaijutsu Challenge or the card-draw of Iaijutsu Lesson.
Rules Questions
It would seem that the Gotei action has yet to resolve since it has not resolved until all of its effects are resolved, ie the taking of the two actions following payment of cost.
No. Gotei's ability has resolved once you gain the two additional Actions, before either of them are taken.
Basically, you have a lot of unseen timing windows going by.
Pay costs and Reactions to such. Successfully played and Reactions to such. Resolved and Reactions to such.
Several Actions create effects that outlast the playing of the Action or take effect afterwards. The trigger for "after an Action resolves" with these kinds of Actions would be after any immediate effects resolve. Delayed and continuous effects don't count.
And, because you love Kuro's:
If the first action is casting Kuro's, does Arishia react after the completion of the first range attack, or after the exhaustion of Kuro's?
After the all the Consecutive Ranged Attacks have resolved. They aren't separate Actions, but effects of a single Action.
That looks like everything for Thursday that wasn't handled within a thread. If I missed your question, please repost it with the flag [RULEs] in the subject line and I'll get back to you at the first opportunity.
