Bayushi
Kaukatsu/Diplomatic Apprentice
If a scorpion player has Bayushi Kaukatsu in play with a Diplomatic Apprentice on him, and causes himself an Honor loss of 4(from an honor loss that can be copied or redirected). Can he bow the apprentice to cause the opponent to lose the same 4 honor, and then bow Bayushi Kaukatsu to cause them to lose another 4 on top of the origional (making it a total of 8 honor loss for the scorpions opponent.)
No. You may play any given Reaction ability only once per trigger. You are using the Reaction ability on Kaukatsu's card whether you pay its cost by bowing the Diplomatic Apprentice or Kaukatsu himself. You may only use the ability once on the given honor loss, no matter how you pay the cost.
If you want to get multiple copies of the dishonor, you need a scheme to get multiple copies of Kaukatsu's ability, like playing the Egg of Pan-Ku.
Again, quick snap question about Nio Sensei
OK, picture an Open game of:
Imperial Palace of Fu Leng or Temple of the Ninth Kami WITH Nio Sensei
vs.
Dark Path of Shadow WITH Whatevah Sensei (say Shoju Sensei)
How much gold will the Dark Path of Shadow produce? Both SL stronghold *can* produce an equal or higher amount of gold than the Ninja, so does Nio Sensei take this into account?
"Gold production is the value printed in the gold coin / grey diamond on a stronghold. [ZF, 5 August 2000]" (Accumulated Rulings, "Nio Sensei")
Dark Path = 3 Palace / Temple = 0
Dark Path gets -1.
rules
Can you cast essece of gaki-do into an ambush?
Yes. The Personality cards are created in the battle, not moved, so Ambush won't get in your way. Creating Personality cards in the battle will definitely satisfy Presence and Relevance.
Chiyeko + freezing lifeblood and ...
Kakita Chiyeko + Freezing lifeblood: how does it exactly worked ? i.e may i issue Jaji Challenge with Kakita Chiyeko with freezing lifeblood token?
No. Chiyeko's ability will not successfully unbow her when she has a Sleep Token, so she can't play an Action that creates a challenge with one of your Chiyeko in such a condition as the Challenger.
Ik K.Ch is in battle bowed after Brutal Confrontation and opponet played on her Freezing lifeblood, may she unbow and make more duels ? yes ? no ? why ?
No. Again, if you can see that her trait won't successfully unbow her, then the Action isn't going to be a legal play in the first place.
second question: what is time/action sequence during playin kiho (with bowing) : ie. 1) targeting monk/shugenja reactions ? 2) bowing (is it cost?) reactions ? (i.e card draw from new Dragon) 3) kiho effect or there is different sequence ?
Well, the first thing you have to do is announce what Action you are taking. That gives everyone a chance to take Reactions that happen "before" an action is played, like Imperial Messenger or Bloodspeaker Sanctum, for instance. From there on, you're pretty much on-target.
Chithith question
Okay, how does Chithith exactly work?
Spells and Kiho can't target Chithith.
Q1: Can Chithith attach spells without a non-ratling follower?
Yes. The player is targeting Chithith with the attachment action of the Rulebook. The Spell isn't in play or generating any effects yet, so it certainly isn't targeting Chithith.
Q2: Can Chithith cast spells without a non-ratling follower?
Yes, but not any spell that targets him.
Q3: Can Chithith cast ritual spells as a primary shugenja without a non-ratling follower?
Yes, with the same caveat as I gave in response to Q2.
Q4: Can Chithith participate in ritual spells as a supporting shugenja without a non-ratling follower?
No. The player taking the Action of casting chooses the shugenja participating in the Ritual, and that makes it target them. Chithith is not a valid choice because he can't be targeted.
question about show of good faith
If I have a Daizu in play and my opponent takes control of it with a Show of Good Faith, What happens if Daizu dies during that turn and he cames back?
1. He returns to play in my opponent fief? 2. He can attack and attach cards? 3. He returns to my control at the end of the turn?
When Daizu leaves play, the "while he or she is under your control," duration ends. When Daizu returns to play, the effect does not start up again. Your opponent can now attack and move cards or tokens as she pleases (not that Daizu will have them anymore after dying).
The "control until end of turn" effect is still working, not that it matters. Your opponent is now the player who most recently put Daizu into play. She is his "default" controller when all "gain control" effects expire. He'll stay on your opponent's side after Show of Good Faith expires.
And does the same apply if he kills it and plays a Feign Death?
Yes. He leaves play. "While you control ..." expires. Your opponent is the last person to put him into play. When Show of Good Faith expires, control remains with your opponent.
Regions of Rokugan
If I flip up Regions of Rokugan, do I have to reveal the region I fetch before I attach it?
Not before it is already attached and has entered play. No one sees the region until you attach it, because no card text instructs you to reveal it.
Get it, set it, and forget it.
Hida Ishi vs. S. Maru
If I have one Ishi in play along with several other personalities and my opp. uses Maru to make me bow one of my many personalities can I target Ishi?
No.
"If a card effects forces you to make a decision, you may not choose an option that is known in advance will fail. You may, however, immediately respond with a voluntary effect that negates or cancels the action or effect you chose. [Summary of other rulings]" (Accumulated Rulings, "Decisions")
Ignominious End question
My question is: does the unbowed Courtier have to be in the same battle you're moving the Dishonored peep into?
No. Nothing on the card requires the performing Courtier to be in the battle. However, if you are moving another player's Dishonored Personality, you need to control a unit in the current battle to satisfy the Rule of Presence.
OK, that looks like everything from Monday. If I missed any of your questions, please repost them with the flag [RULES] in the subject line and I'll get back to you at the first opportunity.
