Iron Pillar question.
Iron Pillar Center Formation Two Samurai or Bushi with either Followers or Armor Reaction: When one of your personalities is destroyed, bow a follower in this battle to negate the destruction.
Moto Kadu-kai Unicorn 3/2 blah... Battle: Bow and destroy Kadu-kai to destroy an opposing personality with equal or lower Force.
My question is, if I negate the destruction of Kadu-kai, does Kadu-kai's ability go through?
If a cost is interfered with, the action it's paying for gets canceled unless you can make up the deficit. [DE p. 72] So either his ability doesn't work, or you try destroying him again to make it happen.
Errata
Dear Alderac people (and other interested people),
While I recognise that printing may be a prohibitive factor against this idea, I've got a little suggestion - that cards that receive errata are reprinted, and made available via koku.
Okay.
Strange Assembly
This is a rules question that struck us on IRC as funny.
If player A is at 48 Honor and at the beginning of his turn, player B is at 39 Honor; and his first three Dynasty Cards are revealed as Events, all of which gain him honor and push it exactly to 48, who wins in the case of Strange Assembly being flipped as the fourth event?
The active player decides who wins.
Question on Chi Death timing
sorry if this has been asked before.
End of turn Chi death and Kisada shrine (or feign death for that matter)
My opponent uses force of will to drop one of my target personalities to 2 chi, he then casts prays and blessings on him to raise it to 3 chi, then casts doom of Fu leng deducing his Chi to 1. At the end of his turn both of the spells and the Kiho effect stop at the same time. He, as the active player, states that we would have the Kiho end first and as such my personnality dies with 0 Chi.
This is wrong. All the effects end together because there are no conflicts that arise from doing so.
Cotw
A related question, when do you declare the use of the Castle, when paying costs?
Yes, since it changes the cost.
Sepukku Kisada's shrine
Can a Samurai sepukku and use kisada's shrine to get his personality back??
Yes.
The Ashura Issue (Rules Question)
A short while back the issue was discussed as to whether An attacking army with a dishonored personality would loose the game if an Aushura was in the defending army (and lost) and chose to destroy the dishonored personality during battle resolution, causing the attacker to drop to -20 honor, even though the attacker had enough force to win and destroy the army/province. I never saw a response from Jeff, so I would like to pose it as a rules question.
Even if this is not the last province, my question is this:
Does the trait on Ashura (defending) trigger before or after (or even simultaneouly as) honor is being gained (or being re-honored in this case) for winning the battle?
Ashura's trait triggers upon Ashura dying. [card text]
Yu destroys cards before the losing army dies. [rulebook]
Honor is gained after the losing army is destroyed. [rulebook]
The Ashura Issue (Rules Question)
Does the trait on Ashura (defending) trigger before or after (or even simultaneouly as) honor is being gained (or being re-honored in this case) for winning the battle?
Ashura's trait pops before honor is gained. However, if Ashura kills your only dishonored personality, can you gain honor from the battle as normal now?
Yes.
question
Luring Tactics Tactical Battle: Move the performing Tactician you control and an opposing Personality from the current battle to an adjacent one.
If you cancel or negate the movement of a Lion personality performing the action, does it cancel or negate the movement of the opposing Personality targeted?
No. [DE p. 72]
courtier seppuku
I was curious as to why it was felt that ground rules on courtiers was changed allowing them to commit seppuku?
Being a vulnerability to dishonor caused their automatic exclusion from the very decks we wanted them to be used in.
Doesn't this errode the incentive for using samurai personalities?
Not if you want battle actions or decent Force.
Implied traits [Jeff?]
I don't know if this has been answered before (I can't see nothing on the accumulated rulings) but going through the DE rulebook, I have noticed for the first time that the list of Implied traits has been shortened and now Naga and Oni are no longer Nonhuman by default.
It's in the Glossary only now.
Ieshiage and actions
Akodo Ieshiage(sp?) gains a force bonus as soon as your opponent takes an action during an attack phase.
If I have Ieshiage at province B and am resolving the battle at province A first, Do the actions my opponent take at province A boost the Ieshiage at province B, or does Ieshiage have to be in the current battle to get the boost.
The current ruling (which is not how he was ruled originally) is that his bonuses only apply if he's in the current battle, based only on actions taken by players controlling units opposing him.
Barren Fields vs Wedge
You have one Wedge personality in the battle and no unbowed gold producing holdings. You play Barren Fields. The battle ends and you can't target the Wedged personality correct?
Correct.
If that is true then you have to keep trying until the number is equal (or is it just until you have no more legal targets)?
If you have no more legal targets, you have to stop anyway. I don't see how you can keep going. You're not allowed to start bowing things you couldn't normally, like your cards outside the battle or other players' cards.
