Moshi Kekiesu rules question
A quick question regarding her odd ranged attack. Is it considered a chi loss?
No. Normal ranged attacks don't reduce Force -- they only kill the target if its Force is low enough. Kekiesu works no differently with Chi.
Feign Death, Show of Good Faith, and Yajinden
If you play Show of Good Faith on a personality, kill it somehow, and then use Feign Death to bring it back do you keep control of the personality even after the end of the turn?
Yes. The most recent effect that gave you control was bringing it into play with Feign Death.
If you use Yajinden to steal someone, kill the stolen personality somehow, and then use Feign Death to bring them beck, do you keep control of the personality even if Yajinden unbows?
Yes.
Ikoma sume & destroying an army
If I am in a battle, and the opponent moves part of his army to an adjacent province, but some units are still destroyed by either ranged attack or during resolution, does this count as 'destroying an army' for the purposes of using Ikoma Sumes ability?
"Destroying an army" means having more or equal Force in your army as is in the opposing one during resolution. [DE p. 84] Only cards in that army at that time matter -- you don't lose credit if more cards were in it earlier but aren't now, UNLESS they're all gone, because there is no army at all there now.
barley farm question
A local experienced player here said you cant produce 2 gold from a barley farm using the reaction and them bowing - I would have thought that this is wrong as gold is produced sequentially when meeting a gold cost?
You may use the Reaction to produce 1 Gold (because you are paying a cost), then you may bow the Barley Farm to produce 1 Gold (because you are still paying a cost).
Suitengu's uncertainty (for Jeff Alexander)
When the attacking unit's go home during resolution are they effected by Suitengu's.
Heh. No. Going home at the end of a battle, either naturally or because it is ended prematurely without resolution, does not count as movement. Far too much would break if it did.
Ki-Rin's Shrine
It wasn't a ruling. It was a change to the rulebook a couple of sets before Diamond. When you pay full price for a Personality from your Faction, you gain his Honor just before he enters play. [DE p. 59] Any continual bonus that raises his Personal Honor while he's in play, such as the Ki-Rin's Shrine, will not be in effect yet, so you will not gain extra Honor.
so what about the region that allows you to give your personalty +2 personal honor.(its a rare from heaven and earth or fou) do you gain that additional honor or is it applied after you bring them into play?
As has been pointed out, Shamate Pass says to increase the Personal Honor as soon as the Personality is revealed. [card text] That would be before you gain honor. You'd see the increase if you paid full price.
Rule Questions, Bawaru no Oni, tokens, etc.
*Bawaru no Oni reads: "At the beginning of the Resolution Segment, straighten Bawaru no Oni if there are any unbowed opposing Personalities."
*Wedge reads : "Battle: Target one of your units in this battle. You cannot target that unit or cards in it with actions until after the battle ends. Destroy the unit when the battle ends. If the unit is still in this army at the beginning of the Resolution Segment, double the Force of the Personality and each Follower in the unit."
*Overconfidence reads: "Reaction: When a personality has recieved from an action a force bonus more than or equal to his or her printed chi, bow the personality. The Personality cannot straighten during his or her controller's next straighten phase."
If a Wedged Bawaru no Oni is Overconfidenced, can his trait straighten him?
Yes. Overconfidence only prohibits straightening "during his or her controller's next straighten phase." [card text]
Notice that it's important that the active player choose to apply Wedge's Force increase before Bawaru's trait. They both happen "at the beginning of the Resolution Segment". If the active player declares that Bawaru's trait applies first, it can't help him.
*Dojo Raiden reads: "Open: Bow Dojo Raiden to increase all numerals on all Followers attached to a target Mantis Clan Personality by 1 and give those Followers the Naval trait."
Does it work on follower tokens?
Yes.
