Rules for 17 December 2003
A rules digest from the L5R CCG rules team, copied from the mailing list archive for Oracle of the Void. The askers' names are left out. Rulings are as they stood on this date; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.
Greetings,
Yes, I did invert Faith in my Clan and Fall on your Knees in the last batch of questions. Sorry.
L5r-ccg Digest, Vol 6, Issue 79
Does Shosuru Maru's ability target a personality for the purposes of effects such as Razor's Edge Dojo?
No. Your opponent targets you, not your cards (you do that).
Rules for 15 December 2003, Part 3
I target my opponent's personality with Fires of Dishonor. I then kill it in a duel and he plays Feign Death. When the personality dies and if it comes back into play does it remember the Fires of dishonor effect?
Yes (Diamond rules, pg. 70).
2) If the above is yes, when the personality comes back into play with Feign Death bowed, does it die because it bowed?
No (http://l5r.alderac.com/rulings/#Bow).
Political Distraction vs Mai and Ichiro
From the Accumulated Rulings
Effects in which honor loss is a cost cannot be used while Political Distraction is in play, unless the effect says the loss can't be canceled or changed. [DW, 13 February 1998]
I would assume that means that they CAN refuse, and that they would still lose 4 honor.
Correct.
Rules for 16 December 2003, Part 3
Player A wants to attach Travelling Ronin during battle. Player B plays Faith in My Clan. What happens to the Ronins?
Back to hand (Diamond rules, pg. 72).
How does the traveling Ronin go back to the player's hand?
Because that's what the rules say. "If canceled, the player returns the card to where it came from." Again, that's written in the Diamond rulebook, pg. 72.
Kitsuki Kaagi(JEFF)
Is this ruling still valid?
Errata/Rulings for Kitsuki Kaagi The challenge happens before any consequences of refusing the duel. E.g., if a Personality refuses Iaijutsu Challenge, Kaagi's duel starts before he or she can commit seppuku. [February 1999]
I believe because of the way committing seppku is written it is now no longer valid, because it is a trait and not a reaction.
Seppuku wasn't a Reaction when that ruling was made, either. Should still be right.
