Greetings,

Rules questions

If I have more than 1 Imperial Messenger in play, can I react multiple times to raise the honor loss?

Yes.

If I bring Kyofu into play, can I use Imperial Messenger to raise the honor loss?

Yes.

Shinjo Horsebow

Can you combine the 2 effects of the shinjo Horsebow into 1 range attack of strength 6?

No. Combining is only an option when two or more cards are involved; i.e. attacks printed in ink on two card (which performs the attack doesn't matter).

Gombei vs. Ryosaki

Ryosaki's trait reduces the focus values of opposing peep's cards. Gombei's reaction doubles 1 card, if it's value hasn't changed. They have the same timing (when revealed). So is it active player's choice (and is that the player whose turn it is, or the person who initiated the duel?), or does the trait beat the action[?]

True, the general rules is that traits occur before actions (Archive, Timing). In this case, though, the action is triggered long before the effect resolves, so I'm tempted to say active player (i.e., whose turn it is) picks.

Assuming Double Chi still adds the focus twice, rather than doubling it, DC and Gombei work fine together, correct?

Yes.

Flying Carpet Question

If Moto Kumari has the Flying Carpet attached and is in the current battle can he use the carpet's ability to move in to the current battle and issue a duel? Can he do this multiple times since neither card says once per turn or once per battle?

Yes to both.
