Rules Question - Hitomi Mae

Say [Hitomi Mae] has 5 chi with the help of an item and her opponent has 4chi + 2chi from a weapon. I have the Ring of Fire in play. Can I destroy the weapon, and still have the first opportunity to focus or strike since the opposing personality had higher chi when Mae entered the duel?

Yes. Just announce them in the right order.

Contested Holding Questions

If I play Contested Holding and it ends in a tie, do I still get the holding?

Yes.

In the rulings archive, it says "If the challenged player controls no unbowed Personalities, he must refuse the challenge and lose the Holding." Why is this?

Ah! You've stumbled upon one the subtle rulings that is now out of date with the release of Diamond. I'll fix it.
