Rules for 20 August 2003, Part 2

Zen Faulkes, sent 21 August 2003 to the l5r-ccg mailing list, the l5r-useful list

A rules digest from the L5R CCG rules team, copied from the mailing list archive for Oracle of the Void. The askers' names are left out. Rulings are as they stood on this date; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

Greetings,

question?

When I use Isawa Wazuka's ability, do I just get to move Items, Spells, and Followers from Personality A to Personality B or does it work like Rewards for Rank?

Could you be a bit more specific? Work like Rewards of Rank how?

[I]s Wazuka a legal target to move cards from or to if it is the same Wazuka I am bowing?

Yes.

Rulebook glossary

Some one should update the glossary definition of "army" in the rulebook then, if it hasn't already been done for Diamond. By that definition, there is no army with no units.

It's much rasier, and *so* much less likely to cause problems, to make a ruling for this one card.

Rules for 20 August 2003

Bloodied Ground says to add the values to the army. The rulebook says an army is "one or more units attacking or defending a province", so if I move the army, don't I move the focus values?

As I said: "This ruling leads to less confusing situations if there are multiple units in an army and one moves."

By moving a unit after this terrain resolves, you can create two armies where one was before. What then? Would *both* armies get the force bonus? The original army? The new army created by moving a unit? This way, there's one ruling, not two or more: the force boost stays at the Province with the terrain.

Asako Shiwasu question

If I use Asako Shiwasu's ability does it destroy the other spell?

Yes.

Bloodied Ground

Jeff Alexander's already answered most of these, but I'll say it again here for the sake of completeness.

With Bloodied Ground being a Delayed Terrain do you;

This one:

Play the terrain as an action, then after all other actions have been played resolve the delayed terrain by playing Fate card(s) face down.

Next!

If other actions can be played after the terrain is played and it is destroyed, what happens to the Fate card(s) that were played?

The effect has resolved, so the bonuses they gave remain.

Is playing the terrain itself a Political Action or just when you start playing Fate cards?

Playing the Terrain.
