Rules for 3 July 2003

Zen Faulkes, sent 3 July 2003 to the l5r-ccg mailing list, the l5r-useful list

A rules digest from the L5R CCG rules team, copied from the mailing list archive for Oracle of the Void. The askers' names are left out. Rulings are as they stood on this date; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

Greetings,

Hitomi Kichi

Do all personalities die at once at resolution?

Yes.

Since this reaction doesn't say once per turn, would you be able to gain +2 force for each personality that dies at the end of a battle?

Please ask again after the set officially releases. I'll take this opportunity to remind people that there's a general policy of not answering rules questions based on spoiler information. No, not even official spoilers from AEG, because cards have been changed and errors fixed between generating the preview scans and the final printed cards before.

L5r-ccg digest, Vol 1 #705 - 15 msgs

My friend thinks that shame is a political action[.]

Not sure why he or she would think that. It isn't and never has been. Gold Edition rulebook, pg. 4.

Incidentally, *please do not reply to an entire digest message.* If you must, please ensure you *do not quote the entire digest*. In fact, I would like to plead with people to do a little more editing of their replies in general!

Question on Loyalty Renewed + Show of good faith

This is a multi-part message in MIME format.

Please post in plain text (see links at http://l5r.shorturl.com for why and how).

If I use loyalty renewed on a personality on which I have used Show of good faith, I gain permanent control over it, right? And I can no longer declare attacks as long as that peep remains under my control, right?

Yes (card text; FAQ, http://www.legendofthefiverings.com/ccg/faq.html#s5; Rules Archive, http://www.legendofthefiverings.com/rulings/#Action_cards).

Shinjo Technique question

Can I use Shinjo Technique to force the opposing player to use their Iaijutsu Challenge on one of their own personalities?

No. Gold Edition rulebook, pg. 47: you can redirect to something a player couldn't have initially targeted.
