if a Personality has an honor requirement of - does that mean it does not need to meet any Honor Requirement, but would other wise count as a 0?

Can you give an example of why this would matter?

I Believed in You

The rule on pg. 32 of the Gold Edition rulebook doesn't apply because a "-" Honor requirement is not a stat that "isn't specified or is missing." It is specified ("-") and present.

A "-" honor requirement is not zero; it is "no honor requirement." (Or, to be fancy about it, an arbitrarily large negative number.) I Believed in You looks for a specific number (like 5, 0, -2), and "-" isn't one.

Moving

Is it correct that a unit that is sent home from battle is moving out of the battle? Or, more generic: Whenever the location of a Unit changes during a Battle Action Segment, it is considered moving?

Yes. Yes (unless card text says otherwise; e.g., Way of Deception).

Hida Hoitsu

Will we ever have an opportunity to see this grid?

Design documents have never been released for public scrutiny.

I suspect this is partly because if fans see such documents, they're treated as canon rather than a loose guideline for a work in progress that is constantly undergoing revision.

Sohsi Eji? Help!!!!!!

Can i use the gohsu ancestor from H&E on a personality that has no actions what so ever and use Eji to cause them an honor Loss.

No. Eiji looks for a card that causes an Honor loss "when one of its *actions* is used." Remember that action are "Limited," "Open," "Battle," or "Reaction." Goshiu no Shiryo does not give a Personality an action; it creates a non-action effect that is triggered by bowing.

GenCon qualifiers

True, but last year we took a static 32 players.

*Except* for Qualifer #3 on Friday morning, which was top 16, because it was smaller than the others. (I remember this because I came in 15th in that qualifier.)

Question. (Show of good faith/Empty victory) (Rules guys)

both players is under empty victory. i play show of good faith and take control of his personality. Do I have to declare attack?

No. An Empty Victory does not override any effects *preventing* an attack; it only removes the option of *not* declaring one. (Precedent: Lions Attack the Crane; see Rules Archive, http://www.legendofthefiverings.com/rulings#Event_cards)

How does this card interacts with prescence and relevance?

The same way other cards do.

Can I use this card in province 1 if he resolving there since i have no unit?

Yes, if the Personality in Province 2 can be in your army, because you would unconditionally gain a unit as a result of the action. (Gold Edition rulebook, pg. 53.)

If he resolve province 2 first, can i loyalty renewed the personality in province 1 and move that personality in province 2?

No. See Gold Edition rulebook, Glossary: There is a separate army at each Province.

if he resolve province 3 first, can i use loyalty renewed?

Not if an appropriate Personality is not in that Province.

Timing clarifications

Is it correct to: Cast Aid of the Grand Master. Play Ring of Air. Play Introspection. Resolve Air of the Grand Master by finding a card and putting it on top of the deck.

No. You can't play the Ring before "resolving" Aid of the Grand Master. The spell effect must be done before the Ring of Air can be played.

Same question, but replace Aid of the Grand Master with Tamori Hiroko.

Same answer.

Cast Walking the Way. Play Iaijutsu Art against a personality with higher chi. Cast Double Chi. Focus a card. Win the duel. Play Ring of Fire. Play Introspection to get the Ring of Air. Bow Tamori Hiroko, reacting to the discard of the focus card, and play the Ring of Air. Is there enough time to play the Ring of Fire and Introspection before the card from the duel is discarded?

Not seeing a problem here.

When discarding a card to Togashi's Shrine and use Tamori Hiroko's ability, do you get the card before or after you get the ring?

Before.
