City of Gold

City of Gold's text says that bowing it after bowing a holding to produce gold, City produces 1 gold. Since it says "after" instead of "when" can I use this 1 extra gold to pay for something different instead of adding it to the holding's production?

No. It avoids the word "when" to prevent timing issues. Nonetheless, you use it while you are still paying the original cost. You must spend the Gold on the same thing.

ok just to clarify, I can attach any number of spells at a -1 gold cost as long as I dont do anything other than attach spells.

The attaching is all part of the Scroll Cache action. Scroll Cache does not create additional Limited actions for you to use for that purpose. So, no, you can't do anything between the attachments, barring appropriately-worded Reactions, of course.

When do I draw the cards, can I draw them after the first spell is attached?

You draw after all the attachments are made.

Who is right, and if the attacker is right, what action would still be legal against Matsuo both before and after he moves?

There aren't many. One example: the second action on Stifling Wind, provided the caster is in the current battle.

Now this reminded me of a game i've had a few days ago. The situation was quite similar. I was attacking two provinces, and at the left i've had One Personality, while my opponent had Doji Reju exp2 with no cards atached (i.e. no followers). At the right battle i've had several units, including Iuchi Hari with Stifling Wind. Now i've chosen the battle at the right province to be the first, and then tried to cast Stifling Wind to bow Doji Reju in the other province. My opponent, and a few other people started to argue that i couldn't do that, because the battle Doji Reju was in, hadn't started yet. Who was right?

You satisfy Relevance if the action comes from, targets, or affects the battle itself or something that's in it now or is going to be. So, an action like the second one on Stifling Wind, that does not require the target to be in the same battle as the card that the action is on, CAN be used on a card in another battle IF the card with the action is in the current one.

shadowlands and Miya sensei

Hi

Miya sensei:

For all players who can achieve an Honor Victory, raise to 10 the Honor requirement of Human Personalities entering play that are printed without their controller's Clan trait.

1. Shadowlands strongholds don't say that I cannot achieve Honor Victory, like the Naga stronghold does. I cannot gain honor. Well, it is almost the same, but... does it count against the sensei, am I the player who cannot achieve Honor Victory?

A Stronghold that does not allow your Family Honor to reach 40 is implicitly unable to achieve an Honor Victory.

2. Does this sensei's effect affect undead personalities and spirits as well (they are human in game terms, right)?

The "Undead" and "Spirit" traits have no effect on whether a card is considered Human. If it's Human without the traits, it'll be Human with them.

quick rule question

Is it true that if you sneak and have a scout that you can play the first terrain and then get the first actionon top?

Yes.

ashura question

Situation: I navalize Tsuruchi Nobumoto, then ambush an Ashura. Through the use of one card or another, I muster enough of a Naval Ranged Attack to kill the Ashura.

Question: Does Nobumoto escape home or is he destroyed?

Ashura's effect happens when it is destroyed, which is before Nobumoto moves.

Origins schedule

ey, is the Origins open tourney going to be with winds or historical favor?

It will use the current Imperial Favor rules from the Gold Edition rulebook.
