Rules Question
Hitomi Nakuso Dragon Clan Shugenja. Tattooed Man. Nakuso will not join the Lion clan. Battle: Bow and destroy Nakuso to destroy one opposing Samurai with an equal or lower Chi.
Bayushi Kachiko Scorpion Clan Seductress. Experienced 3. Unique. Kachiko will only join a Scorpion player. Reaction: Discard a card from your hand when a Battle action is played during a battle Kachiko is in. Cancel the action.
If Nakuso uses his ability, and I use Kachiko's ability to cancel his action, what happens to Nakuso?
The cost of Nakusa's ability is bowing and destroying him. [GE p. 39] Costs are not refunded when an action is canceled. [GE p. 45] Nakusa stays dead.

I'm sorry, your answer is confusing me. It seems that on one hand you state that Jimmy cannot play COAAT if he has 2 units in play even though one of the units has the Void Tattoo and doesn't count for presence.
Well, he can play it, but the Terrain's actions are not usable because there are two defending units.
But doesn't that mean, for all intents and pruposes, that he now has one unit in play?
No, NOT for all intents and purposes. Tattoo of the Void interacts with very little other than the Rule of Presence.
Tattoo of the Void changes the answer to the question, "Do I have units in the battle?" without changing the answer to the question, "How MANY units do I have in the battle?"
card lists, back changed?
also, is there anywhere online whereby i could find cardlists for all the sets that have been released?

If I play Tireless Assault on Matsu Domotai while I am a defender, I know he can not move into the Battle but will he still straighten?
Yes.
How exactly is that supposed to work? The personality targeted by Tireless Assault must be in your home, so you must move that personality into the battle to satisfy the Rule of Relevance. Since Domotai cannot move into a defending army, he will make that action illegal. Am i right?
Oops! You're right. You know beforehand Domotai will not enter the battle, so the action doesn't meet Relevance. (It also does not meet Relevance if you have no units in the battle.) So although the action WOULD simply straighten him if it were legal, it is not legal.
Scroll Cache
A ruling came up last weekend that I am curious to set straight.
In Scroll Cache, does the cost reduction for spells apply to all spells you play that turn, or merely to spells you play as part of the Cache?
Only those played as part of the Cache.
Yotsu Seou
I wonder if there is someone who remembers Yotsu Seou:
"At the end of your Straighten Phase, destroy all Shuriken tokens on Seou*
Battle: Give Yotsu Seou one or more Shuriken tokens. The total number of Shuriken tokens on Seou cannot exceed four. Produce a ranged attack with a strength equal to the number of tokens just given to Seou. This does not bow Seou."
So, my questions are:
-this "total" refers to the whole game, whole battle or just this moment?
Just at the moment.
-can I use it more than once in a battle?
Yes. Without help from any other cards, you can use her up to four times.
-can I combine this attack with others?
Yes.
Clarification on CP Jeff
Assuming you also do not have any Jade cards, no. Corruption's Price must be played as soon as its trigger occurs, which is the bowing of the Corrupted Mine. The Personality has not entered play yet because it has not been paid for.
;;;;;
So in this case what happens to the corrupt holding and to CP?
1. Nothing to the holding and CP is discarded since CP needs a peep and a corrupt holding to work?
2. Nothing to the holding and CP is not allowed to be played as it cant satisfy its targeting requirements?
#2.
If nothing, then when you have no peeps in play you can buy your 1st personality with the corrupt mine which wouldnt let a CP be used and then buy further peeps if possible using non-corrupt gold none of which could be destroyed correct?
Correct.
Mujina Gang
"After Mujina Gang attaches to a Personality, you must discard one card attached to the Personality." and this is trait. So please tell me, can I attach them to some Personality, who has no other cards attached? This discarding is a cost or effect?
It is an effect. Notice that you discard the card AFTER you play the Gang, though. If you play the Gang on a Personality who has no cards at all attached yes, you are forced to discard the Gang.
Void Tattoo question
I'm confused by this Jeff. You say that he doesn't count for "any other card or effect that requires you to have a Personality in the battle". Isn't that everything? If you only have this unit in the battle, how do you fulfill the rule of presence to take ANY action?
That's just it. If all your Personalities in a battle have the Void Tattoo, you DON'T have Presence. That's the drawback.
Question on ancestors
can a personality have more than 1 ancestors ?
Yes. You typically cannot attach more than one at a time, since bowing the Personality is a cost of attaching them, but there is no maximum limit on the number one Personality can accumulate.
Paying cheap for Rats
Can you pay cheap for your Rat peeps out of the Nezumi SH?
Yes. [GE pp. 2, 35]
Rules Q
Using the Wish says the Personality gets a Force and Chi bonus equal to their Force and Chi. Does this mean each stat gets a bonus equal to the sum of Force and Chi, or does each stat get effectively doubled?
Each stat increases by its own printed amount.
