Greetings,

Rules question

Do all currently issued promos become legal on the 21st of April, the Official release date of Heaven and Earth?

Nope; 30 days after. 21 May 2003.

Suspicious + Nagori vs. We will have Revenge

I have a resolved Suspicious and a Nagori in Play. My opponent has an unbowed Personality. After my Events Phase I use Nagori to increases my opponent's Honor loss. Could my opponent play We Will Have Revenge?

No. The loss is being caused by the event; Nagori is modifying it.

No Hiding Place vs. FoYK

I have a Shugenja in my fief. My opponent attacks with Shinjo Xushen. In the battle he tries to use No Hiding Place with Xushen against my Shugenja. I play Fall on your Knees. Must Xushen bow?

Oh, great. More pre-emptive weirdness.

I think it depends on whether there is a legal target for the Ranged Attack without the use of No Hiding Place. You can't take an action (like a Ranged Attack) without a legal target (No Hiding Places changes the legal target, obviously). But again, you must have announced the Ranged Attack to use No Hiding Place, an you normally can't abandon actions halfway through them (barring cost or targeting problems).

I'm getting less comfortable with these "play this Reaction before your action" rulings, though, and look forward to hearing Jeff's take on them.

Gifts and Favors Rules Questions

the official ruling on this is that you can use it even if it isn't in play, as long as you have brought no gold producing holdings into play, correct?

Yes. I said so yesterday.

Now, from this wording, if at any time you do not bring a gold producing holding it to play on a turn, the you must search your deck/provinces.

No. It's a Reaction, and Reactions are always optional.

Gifts and Favors Rules Questions

But the diference is that Counterattack isn't in play all the time. This card is.

Sorry, you're drawing a distinction that does not exist in the rules.

Besides, there NEEDS to be a drawback to something violates funemental rules mechanics.

Cardinal Rule #1. Each and every card has the ability to violate fundamental mechanics, by their own card text.

Toshimoko no Shiryo question

If I'm playing KD and one of my personalities that does not have Toshimoko [ancestor] attached is challenged to a duel (or starts one or whatever) can I use the SH Reaction to switch in the peep with Tosh no Shiryo attached?

Before I answer this, I want to say that it would make it a *lot* easier to answer the question if there were no abbreviations. I mean, KD? Is that Kitsune Diro? Kaze-Do? Kitsu Dejiko? Kolat Duplicate? Kukan-do? Kuruma Date? (Yeah, I figured it out, but I hate having to puzzle over abbreviations. I do that enough in my work.)

Yes, because he's not "involved" until the Reaction completely resolves.
