Terrain Question - Rules Guys
I'm wondering how long a terrain's effects last. The rulebook seems inconsistent in this regard.
It's consistent. The two different Terrain types simply have different durations. Immediate Terrains last only while the terrain is in play. Delayed Terrains last until the rest of the turn. [GE p. 55]
Specifically, I'm wondering if reactions can >be taken during the resolution segment of a battle in which Deadly Ground, Night Battle, or some other action denial terrain has been played.
Terrains not eliminated by any player stay in play until after battle resolution. [GE p. 58] So all Terrains are still in play during Resolution, including Deadly Ground -- which will still have its effect due to being Immediate.

The Clan Letters for Herald #6 are already on our website.
Umm...actually, no, they aren't. Those are still the letters from Herald #5. The Mantis one is Kumiko introducing herself.
I'll have a good talking-to with Ray then. He assured me they were up. Assured, I tell you!
Queries about stuff
A simple question.
Doji Kuwannan is unique. Doji Yasuyo is not. Doji Yasuyo, however, does have the Soul Of Doji Kuwannan trait, making her count as Doji Kuwannan for uniqueness. Does this make her unique, and, if so, can she be in the same deck as Doji Kuwannan?
2 Questions
My sincerest apologies. I was quoting Pearl Edition. Silly me.Funny how this has never come up in my play circle - "you're not invited" has more or less always been respected. Oh well. Guess I'll start calling myself "master of eyars-old rules" from now on...
Fooling around with other players' battles with actions that don't require presence has been allowed since before Pearl.
question for Jeff
If i am playing with the ninja stronghold and in a battle where a deadly ground is in play, can I still use the battle action on the ninja stronghold to send the attacking army home if they are under 10 chi?
Yes. No card or Stronghold effect can make the Dark Path's ability illegal to use.
Exile's Road
Let's say my opponent has Forgotten Lands in play :
If i copy it with 2 Exile's Road, what happens when he attacks me and the only 2 unresolved battles are those taking place at Exile's Roads ?
He can choose either to resolve first.
Another question about Exile's Road : If i copy a non-unique region with it, let's say farmlands, will a second Exile's Road copying the first grant me the ability to create farmlands tokens ?
Yes.
And if the region copied with the first E'sR is unique, am i allowed to copy the first E'sR with a second ?
No. [card text]
question for Jeff
If I use a Reaction to redirect a duel to Kakita Rensei can other players use a reaction to cancel that re-direction?
Generally, yes. Rensei doesn't stop them from taking Reactions until the duel (not just the challenge) is underway and Rensei is in it.
Berserker Rage
If you were to target a berserker with berserker rage, and set his force to double the printed - could his force later be raised by other actions such as frenzy?
Yes. [GE p. 32]
Rules Q
During the resolutin of a duel my opponent attempts to use loyal yojimbo to save his personality. Reading the rules death occurs during resolution which indicates it is taking place *during* the duel correct?
Correct.
Would it be legal to cancel the reaction (loyal yojimbo) with keen eye?
Yes.
a few rules questions
First Question concerning Force of Will which reads, Open: Bow this Shugenja to switch the Personal Honor and Chi of any Personality in play until the end of the turn. If the target of this spell is not a Personality you control, this spell is destroyed after it is used.
now if I am playing spawning grounds and one of my personalites gets targeted with the force of will what would his ph/chi be if he originaly had 4chi and 0ph and the personality has a printed chi of 3
His Chi was 4, so his PH will be 4 after the switch. His PH was 0, so his Chi will be 0 after the switch. Bye-bye.
I have been told that the chi is 0 and the personality has died, but would not his chi be 1 and the ph be 3 or 4?
No, because a card effect said, "Set his Chi to 0 and his PH to 4."
The stronghold gives a +1 chi bonus. Now there is a new number in the chi stat so would it get the bonus and the ph lose the bonus?
No. GE rulebook p. 32:
] It is possible to set a card's value directly to a particular ] number. Do not apply any bonuses or penalties already in effect ] to this new number -- in essence, they're already part of ] it.
now when dueling someone with a chi of 3 does Poisoned Weapon kill a peep w/chi of 3 who has focused at least a 1 before the resolution.
No. Focusing adds to Chi as soon as the focus card is put down. [GE p. 61]
