A rules digest from the L5R CCG rules team, copied from the mailing list archive for Oracle of the Void. The askers' names are left out. Rulings are as they stood on this date; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.
Just checking.
if i beserker rage utaemon, then in my next available action can i use command group on him?.
Sure. Berserker Rage changes his current Force, so the number it changes it to is the number used by Command Group.
Kuro Sensei question
I have a question regarding Kuro sensei (the one that lets you refuse unrefusable duels) and facing your devils. Facing your devils is not normally unrefusable, but what happens in the event that you aren't able to refuse because your focus values aren't high enough? Does it become unrefusable or not? and how do I prove to my opponent that I am not able to discard enough cards?
You're letting that bit about unrefusable challenges distract you. Kuro Sensei's penalty for refusing a challenge only cares about whether the challenge comes with its own penalty for refusal. Whether the challenge is refusable is not relevant.
"If one of your Personalities refuses a challenge with no given penalty for refusal, you lose 3 Honor and the Personality becomes Dishonored." Facing Your Devils has no listed penalty for refusal. Discarding focus values is a COST of refusing, not a penalty -- you cannot refuse if you can't discard high enough. That means refusing it incurs Kuro Sensei's penalty -- whether or not you discard!
Problem with the rankings...
So how is a 10-0 record possible when according to the floor rules you have a 4 round swiss with 6-15 players???
That is the suggested number of rounds, and it assumes a separate round of finals in a single- or double-elimination format. TOs are not obligated to use those formats or suggestions.
What can we do about this or what can OP do to make sure that this doesn't happen? This kind of record keeping makes the player rankings even less useful than before OP because tournament records are not accurate.
Short of having Organized Play appoint and background-check official auditors that go to every sanctioned tournament and verify results in person, honest and deliberate errors will both be possible during the reporting process. Without ever having even seen them personally, I can guarantee you there were misreported events back when both AEG and the DCI were keeping these records.
