Rules Questions again
Here is the question, quite tricky:
Kisada's Fist and To Do What We Must.
I know that you can't protect your unit from your own TDWWM because the destruction is a cost.
But
If your OPPONENT target your unit with a TDWWM, can you bow Kisada's Fist to prevent your personnality from being destroyed. As I read the card, as Kisada's Fist react BEFORE the personality is destroyed, you can bow him, then all cards in the unit except the personality is destroyed. Am I reading the card wrong?
No. That's exactly what happens.
Q: more on overwhelmed (to Jeff) / Overwhelmed conundrum
Jeff, could you explain your answer please? I don't understand it:
My opponent attacks with 2 units, led by a personalities with 4 and 6 force. I defend, and play Block Supply Lines on the 6 force personality. He plays A Test of Courage. He Passes. I play Overwhelmed, destroying my highest force personality. What happens now?
He can't destroy his higher force personality, because that would require targetting that unit, which he can't do because he played A Test of Courage.
He can't send two units home because that would require targetting his higher force personality, which he can't do.
He can't send home the 4 force personality, because he has to send home two units.
So does Overwhelmed have no effect on him in this situation?
JA: He must send home the one unit he can.
You pick an alternative you can satisfy and do as much of it as you can.
Dragon Enlightenment deck
Hmm, palm strikes are cool, but I only play 4 or 5 monks. Besides, deep in meditation is way cool too! It gives ya a little extra against those honor runners, namely you can play your duels, or you can just catch the honor!
Well, let's not overlook the fact that Deep in Meditation is really designed to "force" your opponent to attack you so you can put Ring of Earth into play. He either gives you the Ring or gives you the honor. Too bad it's a rare. Or maybe not, seeing as how it's a pretty specialized card. As an uncommon it'd just be another coaster most of the time.
So if it were a rare instead of an uncommon, it would be more powerful?
Exp KYD question
FROM THE RULES ARCHIVE Experienced and ExperiencedKYD cards are separate cards. Both may be in a deck, and NEITHER IMPINGES UPON THE OTHER'S UNIQUENESS. For overlaying, ignore the KYD completely. [JA, 27 September 2002]
"..NEITHER IMPINGES UPON THE OTHER'S UNIQUENESS.."
Does it refer to deck construction only? Can't I have both Toku Exp.2 kyd and Toku Exp.X in play at the same time?
You can put both the Exp2 and the Exp2-KYD version in your deck despite both having the same title and the "Unique" trait, just like you can put both the Exp2 and Exp version in. Likewise, you cannot have both the Exp2 and the Exp2-KYD version in play at the same time, just like you cannot have both the Exp2 and the Exp version in play.
Rules Q
A player uses Norikazu/Hammenari's ability to cancel an action. What exactly happens to this action card while his ability is in effect?
The same thing that happens to any other canceled Action card: it goes to the discard pile.
A player wishes to use norikazu/hammenari to cancel the action, then use other card effects that target the card (oracle of thunder, jurojin's touch, path not taken) in conjunction with this ability. Is this legal?
Yes. Keep in mind that the card will still return to the player's hand at the end of the turn unless it is removed from the game completely (Jurojin's Touch and Oracle of Thunder Exp. both do this).
