Broken Blades Ancestor question

Why have the ancestors reverted to the "Shiryo no [name]" system from the "[name] no Shiryo" system?

They haven't. The preview card images were generated before the very last round of proofreading and edits were done.

Defend your honor questions

Can I play "Defend your Honor" when I refuse a I. Challenge?

Yes, because it's your opponent's action (the I. Challenge) causing you the loss. It doesn't matter that the decision is your own.

If I select Mirumoto Tsuge as may challenger then I may use his ability, true?

Sure. Why wouldn't you? He's issuing a challenge.

golden obi of Sun Godess

Can the golden obi be used during the resolution of a battle to save your personality?

Your Personality is about to be destroyed, so, yes, you can use it. Neither the Personality nor the Obi are worth honor to the winning player -- the Personality's destruction is prevented, and the Obi is destroyed by something other than the battle's resolution. All other cards attached to the Personality are still destroyed and are worth honor.

How about Decoy?

Yes. It works the same way.

On: Decoy
Test of MIght!!!!!!

If you play test of Might in a battle where Naga Gaurd has been used or the Oni Fortifiacation is at. Does your focus value equal 0 because you cant gain force?

Your focus values don't change. They just don't add to your duelist's Force.

Is a test of might's focus values considered force bounuses?

Yes. [p. 31]

Can a card like overcofidence be played when a test a might focuses a reveled?

Not when they're revealed, since they add as soon as they're focused. Since you can't respond to something you don't know about, you can't play Overconfidence when the focus is made, either, unless it's made face-up.

Pursha

How Does Pursha work if the attacker and defender have one? I know the defender gets fist reaction

Not the Defender -- the player to the left of the Attacker. In multiplayer games, the two aren't always the same.

but pursha Says " ranged 3 attack

before defenders first action" if the defender uses his pursha first then he has taken his first action right There for it is no longer legal for the attacker to use his pursha is this correct? What if the defender has more than one pursha defending can he use all at same battle?

"Before the Defender's first action" means before the first NORMAL Battle/Open action opportunity. [p. 58] All players can use as many of their own Purushas in the current battle as they want, starting with the player to the left of the Attacker.

Naval Invasion

please someone tell me is naval invasion stopped by the fortification barricades

It is.

Test of MIght!!!!!!

if the Focuses for test of might are force bounuses does the force go away at the end of duel or till end of turn?

Bonuses from focusing go away when the duel ends. [p. 61]

Tacticians

Thank you very much for the help, also can a tactician use his tactician triat once per battle?

Yes. [p. 65]

If so, an Ikoma Ken'o can use the tactican trait at battle A, move to Battle B, and then bust everyone up with the sneak attack, bow Ken'o to bow all opposing units with less force then ken'o.

Yes.

Sure is powerfull

Sure is.

Naval Invasion

i just checked the cards out once more Barricades stops an action or effect. What is Naval invasion? Is It rule book effect, or card effect?

It's a rulebook effect.

If Naval invasion is a rule book effect are you sure the "invasion" is stopped?

Barricades doesn't say anything about only working against "cards" in its current printing.

If so that sucks! a 0 gold fortifaction stopping the new Mantis Naval Invasion. You cant drive a boat everwhere though

A little less vulgarity, please. Thanks.

L5R-CCG-Digest V2002 #540

18. All fate-side, of course.

How about Unique rares?

The rest. :)

Broken Blades follows the recent standard of 50 C / 50 U / 50 R, split evenly between Fate and Dynasty. If 18 Rare Fate cards are non- Unique, that means 25 Rare Dynasty and 7 Rare Fate cards are Unique.

Question

Counterattack has me confused. When is the right time to use it.

After the entire Attack Phase is over, by the Most Recent Printing.

If the attacker has a rally cry what good would it do you?

Much, much less than usual, which is a situation a lot of players are quite familiar with.

You still get the slight advantage of attacking him before he buys more Personalities from his Provinces, so his army will be smaller than if you wait to attack him on your turn. (Of course, you also forego the opportunity to add more Weapons or Followers to your own army first. It's a trade-off.) And there are ways to foil Rallying Cry itself, such as bowing his Personalities during battle (Test of Might, Block Supply Lines, Suspended Terrain) or moving them to different battle (Isawa Riake, Luring Tactics) so they'll need a second Rallying Cry to stay unbowed.
