You'll need one IRC for every eight cards (or fraction thereof). If you include your own card protectors for shipping, it will take more, depending on the weight -- figure one IRC per ounce.

And is it possible (and would you be willing to do that) to send certified mail with IRC?

Due to the large amounts of mail we need to send out, it is simply not feasible for us to send koku orders via certified mail.

Crab Tattoo Question [JEFF]

Here is a stumper (I think):

A. Crab Tattoo Question

1. Crab Tattoo says "Limited: Target one of your personalities with the Tattooed trait and without a Crab Tattoo. For the rest of the game, the personality has a Crab Tattoo and gains +4F while in a defending army."

2. Togashi Genshuo has the trait "Genshuo cannot gain force bonuses from actions."

3. The Archives say that when a personality gains a tattoo, he/she does not gain the "(keyword) tattoo" TRAIT.

I read from the above that the personality would NOT gain the Crab Tattoo text as a trait, and therefore Genshuo would not be able to gain +4F from having a Crab Tattoo.

I would agree with that assessment.

B. Season of the Lion Question:

Dark Allies was released almost a month ago. We are having a tournament this weekend. We want to use Dark Allies cards. We also want to make it a Season of the Lion Tournament and send in the results. However, we're unsure of the AEG policy on using new cards in storyline or Season tournaments. Since people want to use the Promos from the Season of the Lion at the Kotei (in two weeks), they are very anxious. Please get back to me with a definitive policy on using new cards (WotC used to have a "one month" policy - you could only use cards at tournaments ONE MONTH after the release date of the cards).

AEG's policy is that promotional cards become tournament-legal at the same time as cards from the next basic set or expansion become legal. The Season of the Lion was greatly delayed, but still managed to ship before the April 8th release date of Dark Allies.

Ring of Air vs. Spell Generated (not spell effects) [Jeff, Vaughn, Zen]

If I have Ring of Air in play and my opponent tries to attack me with 6 ranged 1 attacks generated by Cascading Fires, what is the result?

Since the ranged attacks are effects produced by Cascading Fires, which is only one spell effect according to a recent ruling. With that in mind....

1) Can I redirect the spell with Ring of Air?

Yes.

2) What can I redirect? All the ranged attacks, one of the ranged attacks?

One of them.

3) If I can redirect one or more ranged attacks, can I send them at cards in his army since he's no longer the one generating the spell effect?

I don't know why you think he's not generating the effects any more, but you're wrong. The standard rule applies: you can't redirect an effect to something it couldn't have targeted in the first place.

Secrets On The Wind and Setsuban Festival

Ok, here is my question, if a Scorpion player is running secrets on the wind and I have setsuban festival pop which causes all tokens to go away, can he still use the spell even though it has no charges left since there are no tokens on the spell?

Yes.

Today We Die, by implicit grammar, can only target a Samurai Personality.

L5R CCG question

Question regarding Togashi Genshuo & Frenzy: The MRP of Frenzy reads "Battle: Give a Crab Clan Personality +3F, or give a non-Crab Personality +2F. Either way, dishonor the Personality. When the turn ends, destroy the Personality's Followers. Lose 2 Honor." Togashi Genshuo reads "Genshuo cannot gain Force bonuses from actions." If Genshuo is targetted with Frenzy is he still dishonored?

Yes. And his Followers are destroyed.

In Search of the Future and Tactician

here the set up i use Shiro Matsu to Limited: Bow to begin an Attack Phase. This does not replace your normal Attack Phase. and in this battle i Tactician 5 and Rallying Cry or use Matsu Hyun to straighten whatever next battle he use in search of the future now will it low my tactician from the last battle

Yes. The bonus is still there, and it is still being granted by something other than an attached card.

L5R CCG question

Depends on whether it is decided that Genshuo's trait cancels or negates the Force bonuses.

If Genshuo's trait negates the Force bonus part of the action, it just wouldn't allow him to gain the Force bonus. So he would gain +2F, which his trait would negate, then he would be dishonored, the player of Frenzy would still lose 2 honor, and Genshuo would still have to destroy all attached followers at the end of the turn. So in short, negating one effect (Force bonus), does not negate the other effects of the action.

On the cancellation side, the Rules Team could interpret this as an extension of Toritaka Kitao ruling, who cannot be dishonored, and therefore cancels all actions that would dishonor him including Frenzy and refused Iai Challenges.

There is no special ruling on Toritaka Kitao regarding this. There is only his text, which specifically calls for cancelation of the entire action rather than just preventing his dishonoring. So there is no issue of "deciding that Genshuo's trait cancels or negates the Force bonuses" -- it negates them, which is the standard result.
