Forgotten Tomb Clarification

Just to make sure, Forgotten tomb says "cards in the FT may be brought into play, without gold cost, during the dynasty phase"

This includes followers right?

Right.

Making the Tomb and exception to the "followers attach during limited action phase" or whatnot?

Correct.

Here are a few followup questions to what is already been answered:

1) The Ninja Shapeshifter (who has copied nothing) and the Naga Warlord are in a duel. Both have a Chi of 2. The NSS challenged with an action card. The Warlord strikes. The Warlord plays Poison Weapon; the NSS is dead. Can the NSS player play Poison Weapon in retaliation (the Warlord, due to Reaction order, had first opportunity to play PW)? Or is the duel over before he can send the Warlord to an equally ignominious fate?

As soon as either participant dies, the duel ends without resolution. The NSS player cannot respond with his own Poisoned Weapon.

What about if both personalities have focused? If both of them have over 4 chi with focuses added, can both players play Poisoned Weapon?

Anyone whose Chi + focuses totals 4 or more will not die instantly from one Poisoned Weapon, giving that player a chance to play a Poisoned Weapon of his own.

Does this spell remove the ability of the Yogo Towers when it is played?

No. That ability is not on the Stronghold.

Beg to differ. If the Endless Deluge removes the writing on the Towers of the Yogo,

It doesn't. It prevents abilities on the Stronghold from being used. But there are no abilities on the Yogo Towers... only a TRAIT which gives an ability to your Scorpion Clan Personalities.

The Iron Citadel, on the other hand, does "remove the writing". It completely replaces your Stronghold with something brand new, and this new Stronghold has no abilities or traits whatsoever. A Yogo Towers player would lose his powerful bowing action if he cast this spell.

Undead Legion Questoin

Undead Legion reads:

"Undead*Shadowlands*Lose 4 Honor Reaction: After the Undead Legion is destroyed, it permanently has -1f and, if it has over 0 Force you may return it to play by attaching it to one of your unbowed Personalities, paying any costs as usual."

A - when it says "paying any costs", that means I have to pay 6 gold again correct? (it's gold cost)

Yes. Its usual cost.

B - it says "return it to play", when can I do this? Must it be immediately after?

Yes. It's a Reaction to them being destroyed. You can use it right away or not at all.

Or can I simply put it aside like Goblin Sneaks and build it when I have the gold (which may be several turns later on)

Goblin Sneaks have a different-enough wording that they are more flexible.

Variable Cost Question

Except for Shadowlands, are in-Clan personalities variable cost cards?

No.

Are followers that Join X faction for X less considered variable cost cards? (An example would be Empresses Guard.)

No.

Endless deluge Question

Does this spell remove the ability of the Yogo Towers when it is played?

No. That ability is not on the Stronghold.

If Endless deluge Question targets a Spawning Ground or Citadel of Daigotsu stronghold, what abilities removes from them?

None, unless you have done something which gives them abilities, like play a Sensei card. Neither of these Strongholds has any natural abilities.

Endless deluge Question

If Endless deluge Question targets a Spawning Ground or Citadel of Daigotsu stronghold, what abilities removes from them?

It removes all actions, i.e. everything that starts with "Battle:", "Open:", or "Limited:".

Or "Reaction:".

It leaves everything else. (POSSIBLE EXCEPTION - check the rulebook to see if bowing it for gold is an action or not. I don't think so, but...)

It's not an action.

Forgotten Tomb Clarification

"...any number of Shadowlands Personalities OR FOLLOWERS..."

Works really well for some cards (Ikiryo, f'rexample).

So, if you slap Ikyro down or some other follower/personality with zero force, are they built that turn? Or, is there a minimum 1 turn delay?

They are played that turn.

Samurai's Fury

Can you use Samurai's Fury after Deadly Ground is played?

No, for two reasons. First, Deadly Ground is an Immediate Terrain, but A Samurai's Fury is only playable after a Delayed Terrain. Second, Deadly Ground's effect lasts until the end of battle resolution, and A Samurai's Fury is an action that does something other than destroy Deadly Ground, so Deadly Ground prohibits it.

And, if so, lets take it one step further and ask, Can you play a blackened sky to pin couchen the opposing army

Yes.

or Command Group all you tacticians?

I think you're thinking about a card other than Command Group. Command Group has nothing to do with Tacticians and doesn't look like it would cause any unusual problems when put in a combo with Samurai's Fury.

Terrain resolution

Does a terrain card nullified by Advance Scout or the Ancient Halls stronghold still technically resolve, without effect? In other words, would it be possible to play A Samurai's Fury in response to the resolution of a nullified Delayed Terrain?

Yes and yes.

post for 4 March 2002

what happens if the fallen lion fortress resolves in a game where there are more than 1 shadowlands player? when one pops a province, all the shadowlands players get one? or only the one that revealed the event/destroyed the province?

Only the very next Shadowlands player to destroy a Province in battle as the main Attacker.

so if there are 2 shadowlands players while the fallen lion fort is in effect and one pops a province, only the player that declared an attack gains the province isn't it?

Yes.

MANTIS Stronghold is posted!!!

Will the term Sailor be equivalent to Naval in respect to open? It would be nice to see Hyobe, Yasuki Kojiro, Nodoteki, Takuni, and the follower "Sailors" to have the Naval trait added for open play. I'm sure this will be addressed in the rulebook, but it never hurts to ask early.

All Sailor cards will be treated as Naval, yes. This will actually be a general rule, although there are no cards in the Gold environment for it to apply to. It was also left out of the Dark Allies rulebook, sadly. Expect it to be issued on release day.

Also, can Yasuki Kojiro lock out a Kyuden Yoritomo players stronghold?

No, by Kyuden Yoritomo's text. (It is not affected by cards that affect ports.)

NEW MANTIS STRONGHOLD

WOW, the third sentences reveals this stronghold as the best defensive one. If reactions can't be played before the first action, then no sneak attacks or scouts... Is this correct?

Going by the text posted, a naval defense would prohibit these things...but would also prohibit playing a terrain as the first defensive action.

(Spoilery) Mantid Confusion

-> Anyone know for sure if its bestowing of "Naval"-ity upon a unit is *Permanent* (a la Iron Mountain) or *Until the End of the Current Player's Turn* as is the default for force bonuses, or the Noble Halls' Tactician-making?

It is not the default for force bonuses. It is the default for all game effects. Since the posted Stronghold does not specify a duration...

ALSO: -> Is it "cool" that Naval Battles can be declared on *any and all provinces* or is there possible restriction, vis-a-vis attached Naval regions or Leftmost/Rightmost provinces?

It's legit.

Quick Question

Is there any plans to allow the overlay rule to apply to fate cards as well:

Already done. Gold/APC/AOF rulebook p. 35.
