A rules digest from the L5R CCG rules team, copied from the mailing list archive for Oracle of the Void. The askers' names are left out. Rulings are as they stood on this date; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

If raising the bonus is not applying a new bonus, then why is there a change in duration? If it was a new bonus I could see how it would only last until the end of the turn, but if it is just the value of a permanent bonus, then I would think the entire bonus would stay permanent. Sorry, but I really don't understand.
All effects last for one turn, not just bonuses. Wayan raises a +1 bonus to a +3 bonus temporarily, then it goes back to being a +1 bonus.
rules Q
Does Moetechi's reaction target?
Under Gold's rules, yes.
can I use it when one of my bowed personalities enters a duel?
No.

Here is what you ruled for the question of "this battle" meaning "the current battle".
So, "this battle" ALWAYS means "the current battle". In addition, it ALSO means "the battle this card is in" when such a phrase makes sense for the type of card it's on.
Therefore, this battle always means the current battle. Then, you can't use the ability on the cards mentioned previously. Rekai, Hataki for example.
To clarify for you, replace the words on Rekai or Hataki "move into the current battle" with the phrase "move into this battle" because they both mean the same thing from what you ruled.
Zen has addressed this more than adequately, I think.
Question...
So I'm curious about the duration of certain force boosts...
More specifically I recently invented a ruling regarding Command Group...here's the situation
Player A (I forgot your name again sorry) is attacking with 3 Lions...he plays command group, bowing Lion 1 and the other 2 have enough force to take my province.
Rally/Accessible occurs
Do these other 2 personalities still have the +4 force they recieved from the first guy?
Yes.
CARD TEXT (yay for posting from home)
Command Group Battle: Bow one of your Samurai in the current battle and target up to two other personalities in the Samurai's army to give the personalities a force bonus equal to the Samurai's force.
I originally ruled that they lost the bonus as they were no longer in the original peeps army...much like Chrage ends when you are no longer an attacking personality.
Charge does not work that way. Its bonus also lasts for the rest of the turn. Are you thinking of the first Lion Stronghold?
oh yeah, I looked in the archive, not very hard mind you but I looked...
It's not going to be in the archive. It's a straightforward application of fundamental rules.
Sneak Attack and Scout
Quick question.
The accumulated rulings specify that Scout can be used after Sneak Attack as the Defender still hasn't taken an action. Could it alternately be taken before the Sneak Attack or are the triggers different?
JamesG, this cost me a game earlier this evening :(
The Scout allows a Terrain before the Defender's first action. Sneak Attack is played at the start of the Battle Action Segment and allows a Battle or Open action before the Defender's first action. Since both those timing windows ("before the Defender's first action" and "at the start of the battle") are considered equivalent, all of the following are legal:
play Scout's Terrain play Sneak Attack take Sneak's action
play Sneak Attack play Scout's Terrain take Sneak's action
play Sneak Attack take Sneak's action play Scout's Terrain
Introductory Herald Package
In the last herald, we were told we would be getting ("soon") packages that assembly members could use to teach a new players the CCG.
Is there any further information on this product?
Two 50-card decks, Kosaten Shiro (Crane) vs. Yogo Towers (Scorpion). Contents and complexity geared towards two neophyte players facing off against one another with an experienced player providing instruction. Cards will not have simplified or omitted game text.
Endless deluge Question
Does this spell remove the ability of the Yogo Towers when it is played?
No. That ability is not on the Stronghold.
some rules questions
what happens if the fallen lion fortress resolves in a game where there are more than 1 shadowlands player? when one pops a province, all the shadowlands players get one? or only the one that revealed the event/destroyed the province?
Only the very next Shadowlands player to destroy a Province in battle as the main Attacker.
BTW, in an ILW-format game, if the shadowlands player alies with his partener to crush a province, is it considered that he destroyed a province in a battle?
No. (What's "ILW"?) Allies are not the Attacker and do not get credit for destroying Provinces or opposing armies.
kokoro rules question
kokoro´s ability reads:
Kiho Limited: Bow one of your Monks to have the player or players with the fewest Fate cards draw a card. Then, draw a card.
what cards count to this ability? fate cards in hand, fate cards in fate deck , fate cards in discard pile?
Fate cards in hand.
Rules Questions
1) The Ninja Shapeshifter (who has copied nothing) and the Naga Warlord are in a duel. Both have a Chi of 2. The NSS challenged with an action card. The Warlord strikes. The Warlord plays Poison Weapon; the NSS is dead. Can the NSS player play Poison Weapon in retaliation (the Warlord, due to Reaction order, had first opportunity to play PW)? Or is the duel over before he can send the Warlord to an equally ignominious fate?
As soon as either participant dies, the duel ends without resolution. The NSS player cannot respond with his own Poisoned Weapon.
2) The Doji Plains hits a Forest. Golden Sun Plains comes up. When the Forest bows to pay for a nonhuman, Golden Sun Plains' Reaction is used to increase its gold production by 2. As the Doji Plains is a continous effect, would this +2 addend* now be doubled?
No. Doji Plains doubles the "normal" production of the Holding. The normal production of a Forest is 1, or 2 for a Nonhuman. In essence, the Doji Plains' doubling is always the very first modification (and multiple Plains doubling one Holding aren't cumulative).
