and what about an overconfidence played during the test of might?

the force bonuses are applied as soon as someone focuses.

If the oppenant focuses, can i play overconf without knowing if the bonus is higher that the chi of the personality? maybe the oppenant should tell if he's bowed or not.

If you don't know how large the bonus is, you can't play it.

Torii Tattoo vs. Flee the Darkness/Know Your Enemy

Does Torii Tattoo prevent actions from cancelling duels. The tattoo says it activates before the personality enters a duel. Not "during the duel" as far as I understand it. Any help would be appreciated.

Type Action Title Torii Tattoo Rarity/Edition C Spirit Wars Text Limited: Target one of your Personalites with the Tattooed trait and without a Torii Tattoo. For the rest of the game, the personality has a Torii Tatoo and gains the ability. "Reaction: Immediatley before this personality enters a duel, automatically cancel all other Reactions until this duel ends."

Reactions to the challenge or to the action creating the challenge will still be played before Torii Tattoo can be used, since those events happen chronologically before the duel begins, and hence long before your duelist enters it.

Torii Tattoo

Okay here is another spin on Torii Tattoo. Can I activate Torii Tattoo before playing a duel action like Test of Might? Kind of like Frontal Assault or Sneak Attack before the Attack Phase begins. Frontal Assault reads "before entering the Attack Phase". Torii Tattoo reads "before this personality enters a duel".

No. The duel must be about to happen, which means a challenge must have been issued already.

It survives, and neither the Personality nor the Obi count towards figuring out how much Honor your opponent gains from the battle, since neither is destroyed by the resolution of the battle. Other cards attached to the Personality are still destroyed since the whole unit is dying.

Except Ancestors, right? They "cannot be destroyed while the personality lives." [AOF p30]

Except Ancestors, right. Those are a special case.

Street to Street question [Jeff]

This didn't appear to be addressed in the Archives, so I'll ask here.

The situation: In a battle at one of my provinces I played the (immediate) terrain Street to Street, causing all followers currently present to detach. Later in that same battle, my opponent moves a unit with followers into that province.

Question: Does the terrain cause the followers in the newly-arrived unit to detach?

No. Nor does anything special happen to them when the terrain wears off.

Luring Tactics brings up a point I'd like to confirm. Suppose a Tactician uses Luring Tactics to move himself and an opposing unit from point A to point B. Is the use of Tactician considered to occur in point A (where it originates, and the active battle) or point B (the destination)?

Point A. See the separate note on "this battle" that I just sent.

I guess essentially, I am just asking to confirm that whenever a Tactician spends their trait, either on a force bonus or with an Action card, that the 'spend' is considered to occur in the active battle.

When the Tactician trait is used, it counts as a use in the current battle, not necessarily the one the Tactician is in.

I have another question on this...

What are the rules for moving into resolved battles?

It's fully legal. Any attacking or allied cards that move into resolved battles go home bowed when the last battle of that Attack Phase resolves or otherwise ends.

Scout & Armor of Sun Tao

I know this has been ruled on before, but it's not in the archive, and currently being debated on the Unicorn list. Can you use Scout to get a terrain from under the Armor of Sun Tao?

Yes.
