To the Last Man

A question

If I play To The Last Man, in a battle where I lost, do my bowed units contribute force to the amount the winner has to destroy?

No.

"Reaction: Play this card after a Resolution Segment during which the opposing player destroyed an army containing one or more of your units. The opposing player must destroy a number of cards and tokens in his or her army whose total Force is greater than or equal to half of your army's total Force, rounded up. The player's bowed cards contribute their Force for this effect as if they were unbowed."

The amount your opponent has to destroy is determined by "your army's Force total". It uses *exactly* how much Force your army had when the battle resolved and you lost (at least until it divides by 2).

I Believed in You

I Believed in You Limited: Make a Personality with an Honor requirement higher than his or her controller's Family Honor "show distaste for the daimyo's actions" and commit seppuku.

Question: Does this card affect Personalities which are currently sitting face-up in the opponent's provinces and which have not yet been paid for?

No. Actions can generally only target cards in play. [AOF rulebook p. 48]

Come One at a Time Question

I've seen a lot of replies to this one already, and most of them looked right, but just to add an official voice to things...

A rules question about Come One at a Time:

Player A attacks with three personalities to Province 1.

Player B defends with one personality at Province 1.

Player B's first battle action is to play C O @ a T .

Player A doesn't destroy C O @ a T.

Point: Player B could already have issued a challenge immediately after playing CO@aT, by that card's own wording. Player A's first chance to destroy the terrain with a Battle action normally doesn't happen until after one duel has been fought.

Player B challanges and destroys one of the attacking units.

Can Player A play any other actions besides the action C O @ a T gives him, or and action that destroys C O @ a T?

Yes. CO@aT does not prohibit or remove any normally-legal actions. It only provides extra ones.

was post for 4 February 2002 now: the Nagoris have it

on another thought, could I have three Nagoris in play, each with a Diplomatic apprentice and make the total plus 6 and a net for me of +5? Now, I am thinking it would go something like this: Suspicians resolves, I box the first diplomatic apprentice, no one else has an action so I use the next diplo apprentice and so on, no other player using a reaction until I have run out of diplo apprentices and Nagoris. Would that be okay?

You cannot use one Nagori's Reaction twice on the same instance of honor loss/gain due to the general rule against using one printed Reaction multiple times against the same trigger. It doesn't matter that sometimes the Apprentice bows to pay for it and sometimes Nagori himself does.

Mushin and Reaction timing

If I play Mushin, Mirumoto Taiu's ranged two, react with Arrows from the Woods...I was argued down that the reaction took up my second action. But the rule book says that "Taking a Reaction does not take up an "action" for determining players' order of acting during the Action Phase or Battle Action Segment."

Could I have used Taiu's ranged four attack?

Yes. Mushin gives you two Open/Battle actions in a row. It doesn't preclude you from interspersing Reactions between them as well.

Bounty Hunters

I have a question about the application. For home store, do I put the name or do I need a number. I was wondering since the space for home store was so small. Also, what do I do if I'm only available at my home store, but the store isn't actually in the town I live in?

silly rules question...Not that silly

Nope. ToC doesn't target targeted actions. It just says that if an action is sending you home it get's canceled.

I don't think it will work, because I don't think terrain resolution effects count as an action.

Sure they do. Terrains are Action cards, and they resolve. Delayed Terrains don't resolve right when they're played, but that's the only wrinkle.

Koku Question

I'm a member of the assembly, and I want to order cards for koku. I was told that I should send international reply coupons because I can't get a SASE (it's impossible ton find american stamps in Spain :) ), ok?

Anoter thing, correct me if I'm mistaken, but 7th sea plnder can be used as koku and viceversa right?

Right.

As a sidenote, are the cards on the website still available?

The ones at http://l5r.alderac.com/ccg/koku.html? Yes.

BTW, I also want to order some 7thsea cards, but I would like to avoid having to pay extra coupons, so can I order them with the simultaneously and with the same coupons?

Sure.

two questions

No. If I remember correctly, Uncertainty doesn't let chi go below 1 due to Uncertainty, so it's legal to energy transference that personality to death.

By card text, Uncertainty sets the Personality's minimum Chi at 1 against all possible reductions, not just its own.
