One more card changed in Gold Edition: Wakizashi now has a focus value of 2, not 1. (I sure hope we're near the end of finding all these little changes.)
targeting questions
Can I play [Pearl Magic] if there is a opposing personality with Kitsuki's K. Journal or with Iuchi Daiyu or Matsu Agetoki?
This one is under discussion by the Rules Junta. The old answer was yes, but that may change.
Shinjo Tsuburo (Exp.) can cancel the entire ranged attack?
He can cancel one Ranged Attack (card text), not the entire action.
Can 'Touch of dead' be redirected with Air Ring to other of my personalities?
If the new Personality was a legal target.
(If they are unbowed they are not a legal target and if they are bowed I cannot target then with my actions)
Redirection only requires the target be something you could have aimed the original effect at.
And to one of his/her personalities?
Yes, if bowed.
Can I play Shiryo no Shinjo on Otaku Kamoko?
Yes.
Reactions like 'overconfidence' now target? What, personality or the effect?
Yes. What is targeted depends on what's affected. In the case of Overconfidence, it's the Personality.
Can I play 'overconfidence' when a celestial sword is played?
No. See Rules Archive, General Rules, Bonuses and Penalties.
Can I use Emperors under hand during a Rise from the ashes?
Yes. It targets a player (card text), which the spell does not prevent.
Confusion at court stops [Emperor's Under-Hand]?
Viewing, no. Discarding, yes.

if you have Ak'Tok'Tuk Sensei out and Alliance pops up, can you name Ratling/Nezumi and have Ratling Personalities subsequently cost 4 less gold?

Alliance doesn't work with the Ratling Sensei, because all of your rats are already members of your clan.
Incorrect. Alliance doesn't care whether a Personality already has your Faction trait–- just that they have some Faction trait besides yours.
Kakita Atoshi [Jeff/Dave/Zen]
While Kakita Torikago was a Crane Clan Courtier, His "Soul of" personality is a samurai. I know that this is not a MRP, and that Torikago is still a courtier, but is this normal and intended ?
