Greetings,
Rules for 21 June 2001
if I Force of Will a personality, who is honorable, and then he is dishonored, will he be killed at the end of the turn when his stats switch back?
No. The current stats don't reverse again. The spell's effect simply ends, and you go back to figuring stats as normal.
What does that mean? The spell Force of Will has a time limit, until end of turn, and then the stats (personal honor and chi) switch back.
Well... no. They don't "switch back" in the same way that they originally switch. Switching stats has definite rules for how you calculate bonuses, etc. No such rules apply with a stat-switching effect ends. You simply calculate the stats as though they were never switched.
So, I guess I'm asking, do you use his current personal honor, or his permanent personal honor, when you switch them back?
Current, I suppose, not taking into account the dishonored status. "Dishonored" status is always applied last. This was in the old Accumulated Rulings file.
Shiba Raigen Q
I'm wondering if Shiba Raigen's 'jump in the way' ability is targetted.
No.
Rules Archive, Redirection: "A redirecting action is only a case of targeting for the original action; the redirecting action itself does not target. [JA, 22 February 2001]"
Rules Archive, Targeting: "Reactions that are triggered by a particular kind of action never target that action. [ZF, 28 November 2000]"
Rules for 21 June 2001
The Spirit Wars rulebook, Targeting and redirection": "No action can be redirected to something it could not have targeted originally."
According to the Spirit Wars rulebook, only targetted effects can be redirected (and only to another legal target), but how many honour losses are targetted?
Honor gains and losses aren't actions.
