Rulings for 18 February 2001
A rules digest from the L5R CCG rules team, copied from the mailing list archive for Oracle of the Void. The askers' names are left out. Rulings are as they stood on this date; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

Yodin Sensei vs. Shinjo Technique
New general ruling: choosing a new target for an action is only an instance of targeting for the redirected action -- it is not also an instance of targeting for the redirectING action.
Among other things, this means it is legal to play Shinjo Technique if you have Yodin Sensei in play. This is a REVERSAL.

Rulings for 15-16 February 2001
According to the rulebook, negating some of an action's effects doesn't stop any of the others. (This is something that's pretty much always been true, really.) The trouble that arises is that going home bowed is two effects -- you go home, and you bow.
I really hate to ask this, but how does this statement interact with the recent reversal on the ruling on Daidoji Rekai Exp 2? Does it?
It doesn't. The rulebook entry only applies to negating some of the effects of an action which has been taken. Rekai's ruling is based on the fact that all targeted actions need to have all necessary targeting requirements satisfied at the outset.
