Ranged Attacks and Kisada

L5R CCG Rules board, 2 March 2012

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

If Kisada is targeted by a Ranged Attack can he shrug the attack off onto a personality with a Follower? The Ranged rules say to target a Follower or a Personality without followers, not target a Unit and if there are any followers target on of them.

Thanks in advance.

I'm assuming you're meaning Hida Kisada from Emperor Edition here; please use full card titles (and Edition, if neccessary, should a Personality have honored his Great-Grandfather and taken his name).

And while you CAN react with the Little Bear's Reaction to him being targeted with a Ranged Attack, and you CAN choose a Personality with a Follower, the Reaction won't do anything and targeting won't change. Per the last part of the effect, it only changes if the new target is LEGAL, and only a "Personality without Followers" is a legal target for a Ranged Attack.
