"Favor" Keyworded Actions and counting as the Imperial Favor

L5R CCG Rules board, 28 February 2012

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

In the new Oracle wordings for Ikoma Tsanuri Experienced and others, the phrase "This is considered a use of the Imperial Favor" has been removed and the Favor keyword is added to the ability (ie Favor Political Battle: ....). The EE rulebook entries for the Imperial Favor abilities also have this wording. However, cards from Emperor Edition that discard the favor as a cost do not, nor do the Oracle Wordings for things like Gozoku Sensei.

Despite not having the Favor keyword, are actions that require discarding the Favor as a cost still considered a use of the Imperial Favor for cards like Matsu Turi non-experienced?

Admittedly, in the mountain of work to do, there were a few things that did not get quite settled before launch.

So, please consider this one "Under Discussion" for now, and we'll get back to you ASAP.
