Anger Management v.s. Negation

L5R CCG Rules board, 21 June 2011

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

If i use anger management on enemy personality Ao-bozu (who is a nonhuman kensai) for the kill and he uses hundred fold cut to negate the destruction, does Ao-bozu still bow?

Anger Management Text: Battle: Choose your performing unbowed Hero and target an enemy card: If it has no attachments, and is bowed or Nonhuman, destroy it. Bow it.

Hundred-Fold Cut Text: Reaction: After another player's action targets your performing Kensai, bow or destroy one of his Weapons: Negate his destruction from the action's effects.

Yes. Each effect is separate and independent, as described in the FAQ: http://rules.l5r.com/CE_FAQ#If_one_effe ... _happen.3F

I'd just like to point out that if Ao-Bozu has a weapon on, I don't think that he has a need to use hundred fold cut to prevent his destruction as the anger management requires the card to have no attachments whether the target is nonhuman or not. The nonhuman part only gets around the requiring it to be bowed. Correct?

True. But strange combos happen...
