A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

I have a hypothetical situation: My opponent gives me a Ring of Water as a gift (using the event naoharu's gift). I have two questions:
1) If I have three rings in play (say, earth, air, and fire) and two copies of ring of water in my hand and fulfill the condition for putting it into play, can I play both of them? If yes. does this count as "enlightenment" since I have played 5 rings by their own text?
2) The same scenario as before, but in this case I have four rings in play already (earth, air fire, water). Can i put my opponent's gifted copy of ring of water into play? If so, does it count as an enlightenment victory?

The Rings, as of Celestial Edition (or Samurai, I forget), are Unique. You may not put a Ring of Water into play if you already control a Ring of Water.
