Clarifications on Shamate Keep

L5R CCG Rules board, 1 June 2011 to 21 June 2011

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

Okay, this stronghold's trait is giving me headaches, and this ruling isn't really making it easier.

"Your Paragons have a minumum Personal Honor equal to their base Personal Honor."

From the CR: In the event that a stat receives a minimum value that is above its existing maximum value, or a maximum that is below its minimum, its value will not change at all until the minimum and the maximum cease to contradict each other.

Just to make sure I understand the ruling quoted above, some scenarios:

A player has Shamate Keep as a Stronghold, controls Matsu Kinihara (PH4 Samurai Paragon), and Akodo's Guidance is in play.

Scenario A: Matsu Kinihara is dishonored in the Action Phase, then assigns into an attacking army. His PH is still 4, correct?

Scenario B: Matsu Kinihara (honorable) assigns into an attacking army (PH5), then she is dishonored (e.g. Game of Sincerity). What is her PH now, 4 or 5?

Scenario B.1.: That Kinihara (dishonored while in an attacking army) is sent home. What is her PH now, 4 or 5?

Scenario C: Matsu Kinihara dies dishonorably while in an attacking army. While in the discard pile, her PH 0 (dishonorably dead, the stronghold's trait shouldn't affect her) Later that game, his owner plays Will and brings her into play into an attacking army. What is her PH now, 0, 4 or 5?

Note: I'm particularly concerned with the phrase "its value will not change at all " from the rules, implying that dishonoring while some effect (of any nature, continuous or ongoing) rises the paragon's PH could "fix" the PH above its base value, and keep it at the increased value even if the effect ceases to apply. Am I understanding that rule correctly?

Under discussion.

Almost three weeks without an answer for this, and my PM reminder got no response. Could I please have, at least, a temporary answer for this weekend's kotei, even if not definitive?
