Tsubo the Drunk and Justly Earned Victory

L5R CCG Rules board, 1 June 2011 to 2 June 2011

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

I saw a few question regarding Tsubo and other Sake token, but nothing regarding Justly Earned Victory.

The situation I am curious about is when Tsubo comes into play, he gains 5 +1 Force Sake tokens. I remove one per his text, then use Alone with One's Thoughts to add 3 more Sake tokens. I proceed to attack with him and my opponent plays Justly Earned Victory during the battle. I believe the three tokens added from Alone with One's Thoughts are the only tokens negated since the original four remaining tokens came from a trait, not an action. Is this correct?

Also, do I remove the original tokens every turn first? Am I able to choose what Sake token to remove as it simply says Sake token?

Thank you for your time.

Justly Earned Victory negates the force bonuses only from tokens created by actions, not by traits.

You may remove any Sake token on Tsubo for his trait - including ones created by Humble House, which will not then require another Sake token to be removed.
