If I play Scars of War targetting my opponent's Temple of Redemption do they lose honour each time they use that Temple to Seppuku? There seems to be a difference in the rules about what an ability is.
From the Glossary: "Text on a card, or granted to a player, that allows an action to be taken. Abilities are used." http://rules.l5r.com/CE_Glossary_A#Ability
To me this seems like the text on ToR allows an action to be taken, and is thus an ability. However:
From CE Card Features: "An ability is a block of text that creates an action. Abilities are written in a mixture of boldface and normal text, and include one or more of the boldface designators “Limited:” “Open:” “Battle:” or “Reaction:” that indicate at what point the action can be taken. (The boldface text “Focus Effect:” is not an action designator but a special trigger for a trait.)" http://rules.l5r.com/CE_Card_features#Abilities
This makes it sound like the text on ToR is not an ability, but instead a triggered trait.
Which is it?
Scars of War Limited: Bow your performing Courtier and target a Holding: Until the game ends, after each time it bows or an ability on it resolves, its controller loses 1 Honour
Temple of Redemption Before you lose Honor from an action that targeted or was performed by one of your Monk or Shugenja Personalities: You may have him commit seppuku. If you did and the seppuku destroyed him, reduce the Honor loss to 1.
