Hello, my playgroup was told that items have no force, but my friend just came back from the Ottawa Kotei and they told him that they infact do have force equal to their force bonus. The biggest example I can give is Rising Sun Blade: Bow this card: Destroy a target enemy card without attachments and with 5 or lower Force. Can a Rising Sun Blade destroy a Rising Sun Blade? Thanks!
Force of an item

Not exactly. Items do not have a Force stat nor a Chi stat, they have a Force modifier stat and a Chi modifier stat, but the rules about them read that "if something in the game needs to check an Item’s Force or Chi separately from its Personality's stats, use the value of its modifier (minimum zero)."

Yes, assuming a Force penalty of at least -1F applies to the targeted Weapon (there are very few cards that can do so), per Items: "Force and Chi bonuses or penalties to an Item affect the modifier; for example, a +1F Item that suffers -2F now has a -1F modifier."
