Flanked by Nightmares vs Half-Breath Strike

L5R CCG Rules board, 4 April 2011

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

If someone plays flanked by nightmares and i have to kill one of my guys, can i target my duelist and play half-breath strike as a reaction?

I'm just confused because i would get to choose the target but it is there action.

flanked text: Battle: If your current army has more units than the current enemy army, bow your target Shadowlands Personality: The enemy leader targets and destroys a Personality in his current army

half-breath strike: Reaction: After the resolution of another player's action that targeted your Duelist during a battle, show another Iaijutsu card in your hand: Target an enemy Personality with 3C or lower at the current battlefield. His controller may destroy him. If he is not destroyed, gain 3 Honor

i would guess that i can but im not sure.

Yes. Even if you chose the target, it is targeted by another player's action.
