A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

So I was looking around for recent rulings dealing with phrases such as "the First Time...", and I found this.
I know this is an older ruling, but I'd like it revisted, and here is why. I feel the phrase "the first time each turn a player X" is ambiguous with respect to how many times this can be triggered, given that a game that has not ended always has at least two players, and each player has an opportunity to do X and have it be the first time in the trigger window that player has caused X to happen.
Using "any" in place of "a" makes it clear that the trigger for this effect only happens "once per turn", instead of once per turn per player, by explicitly coalescing the set of all triggers together and looking for the first one. Where as the "a player" expresses a more compartmentalized trigger that allows for being interpreted as a per player effect. Gramatically "a" refers to only a single entity at a time after all, thus the confusion.
Further, if the intention were to be multi-player triggers "each" could be used. This appears to be the case already, Glory of the Shogun. This would also be reinforced by the definition of "any" in the glosary... "Any: One or More" Thus the interpretation of the errata text becomes clearly singular instance, vs singular player instance.
I would suggest "technical errata" for this card as such to avoid future confusion for new players that was clearly evident in the original posters question.
Until your next turn begins, after the first time each turn any player attaches a card from his hand, draw a card.

So noted.
