L5R CCG Rules board, 31 March 2011

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

Ieyoshi Unaligned Ronin Samurai • Hero Reaction: After Ieyoshi enters play: Choose a Clan alignment. Permamently give all unaligned copies of Ieyoshi you own, in and out of play, that Clan alignment.

Does Ieyoshi lose the unaligned trait after bringing one into play?

Does Ieyoshi lose the unaligned trait after bringing one into play?

No, firstly because 'unaligned' is not a trait (nor a keyword), secondly because a Reaction is always optional to take.

Assuming Ieyoshi's controller takes his Reaction and Ieyoshi is still unaligned, then he gains the chosen Clan alignment and he ceases to be unaligned, per the glossary: "The term “unaligned” refers to a Personality, player, or Stronghold without a Clan alignment."

Follow up to this.

Ieyoshi would still have the Ronin Keyword though, right?

Edit: Nevermind, confused alignment designator in original post with "actual" card text. He doesn't have Ronin. So feel free to ignore me.
