Chugo Seido vs Overpowering Assault

L5R CCG Rules board, 20 March 2011

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

Sorry for another Chugo Seido question, but I wanted to make sure we called this correctly.

During a battle I bowed my follower and targeted Lion Personality A without attachment with Overpowering Assault. My opponent reacted with Chugo Seido and tried to redirect it to Lion Personality B with a Tsuruchi Daikyu. I argued that Lion Personality B was not a legal target because he had an attachment. He argued that he was and my action just fails.

We argued back and forth and eventually ruled in my favor, but I'd like to get an official ruling just in case.

Not legal.
