Just clarifying:
Consumption by Fire: "Battle: Bow this card, and destroy it unless the targeted card is at the current battlefield: Ranged 3 Attack that may target a card in the Defender's home."
I can target my own guy if he's in my home and I'm the defender, correct?

I can find no rule that prevents it. The normal restriction of targeting "current enemy army" is override by the card's exception for Defender's home.
