In Aikune's name vs one opposing card.

L5R CCG Rules board, 5 May 2010

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

Okay, my understanding is that In Aikune's name requires your opponant to be able to target two cards opposing him in the battle in order to use legally use it. However ive been told because of the wording on the card, it can be legally played against a single card in the opponants army.

Therefore is it legal for player A to use In Aikune's name when he is opposed by player B who controls just one card in the battle.

In Aikune's Name battle reads - Battle: Destroy this Shugenja: Destroy two target cards without attachments in the enemy army.

Thanks for your time.

That's incorrect.

I'm willing to bet that people are misremembering or don't know the rule on required targets. See the FAQ: http://rules.l5r.com/CE_FAQ#What_are_re ... targets.3F
