Isawa Tanaka and movement

L5R CCG Rules board, 21 April 2010

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

A player, 21 April 2010

In the searches of this forum, I have seen Isawa Tanaka discussed quit a bit as well as movement legallity. I play Unicorn (if you hadn't guessed) and I have a friend that plays Phoenix. If the Phoenix player has no units in the battlefield, may he use Tanaka's ability to move a unit other than Tanaka into the battlefield? I ask this at the risk of irratating the rules team because I would like a concise ruling for the purposes of clarification.

Thank you for your time and patience.

Isawa Tanaka:

Text Phoenix Clan • Water • Shugenja • Cavalry Battle: Move your target Personality at any location to a battlefield where there are one or more enemy units.

Zen's answer is here.

I don't think I can make it any more concise or clear.
