Umi-Bozu and Seven Seas Port

L5R CCG Rules board, 11 March 2010

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

Following up on this question about Stronghold Immunity, which arose from this only barely-related nightmare about Legacy:

I know that the wider issues are still under discussion and are probably going to stay that way for some time. But the original post received a ruling that strongly implies that Umi-Bozu's "if you control a Port" clause does not count Seven Seas Port as a Port because it is a Stronghold. Not to imply that I might be considering corrupt Mantis or anything, but can this specific case be resolved even if the wider issue of Stronghold Immunity still needs more Rules Team time?

However Umi-Bozu is ruled probably applies to Simple Merchants, too, but I don't expect to see any Simple Merchants this Kotei season, so that's a less pressing concern.
