A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

Having recently read on recent rulings regarding JEV and shameful injury which negate force penalties from poison tokens viewtopic.php?f=59&t=81436 , does this mean that JEV will also negate the bonuses from weapons/items which are attached to personalities in the current battlefield??
Direct from the rulebook: "Continuous effects are those found in non-triggered traits, as well as modifier effects that are not triggered (such as stat modifiers on Items or tokens)."
JEV: Battle: Target your Personality: Move a target enemy Personality with lower Force or with fewer attachments home. Battle: Negate all current Force bonuses and penalties to cards at this battlefield from actions.
Shameful injury Battle: Even if you control no units at the current battlefield: Negate all current Force bonuses and penalties a target Personality has received from actions. Until the turn ends, negate all new Force bonuses or penalties on him from actions.
Cheers!

The force bonus from an item is not "From an action" (As the Equip action merely attaches the Item, and does not directly give a bonus). Force bonuses from Items cannot be negated by Justly Earned Victory and Shameful Injury.
Tokens, however, almost always come from actions, and if the source of a token is an action, the bonus or penalty that the token gives is an effect of that action that created the token. Thus, those tokens can temporarily have their force bonuses/penalties negated from actions like Justly Earned Victory and Shameful Injury.

Concerning the ruling here...
Does this mean that if someone were to attach a Seppun Blade via Obfuscation that it would be negated by JEV or SI because the source is now coming from an action rather than the rulebook effect of attaching from the hand?
Also, are tokens considered attachments? If not, what kind of classification do they even have?

The force bonus from an item is from the item, not from the action that attached it. See Glossary, From.
Tokens: Tokens are objects such as coins, glass beads, or pieces of paper that are used to track certain things in the game.
