Flawless Assasin

L5R CCG Rules board, 26 January 2010

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

Key Text: Reaction: After one of your Personalities moves to or from this unit's location, if this unit has no non-Ninja Personalities or Followers: Move this unit to any location.

If a personality with Flawless Assassin is sent home, is this enough to trigger the reaction?

Yes.

After a Personality moves is when the Reaction might trigger, so after the movement is when you check.

One of your Personalities moved? Yes. Is that Personality at (that is, moved to) this unit's location? Yes (because it's THAT Personality's unit; hee hee).

If the unit has no non-Ninja Personalities or Followers, you are good to React!

Regarding this

That's not what the rule clarifications in the harbinger starters suggest (assuming that the referenced card is Flawless Assassin, just with the name changed, as some people have suggested). Does this override the booklet in The Harbinger, or those are unrelated cards?

Edit: Sorry but I haven't got the text in that booklet to quote.

On a similar instance: I send home two ninja with Black Hearts, Red Blades. One of them has a Flawless Assassin. Can the Flawless Assassin react to the movement of the other ninja?

Well, not having the text a bad thing, because the text in the booklet says (emphasis mine), "This Follower can react to its own unit's movement." (On my English edition, at least; not sure if there is a Spanish one that you got, and if it was misprinted.) And yes, "Poisoned Whispers" referenced in the booklet is Flawless Assassin.
