A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

my question is this: if I direct approach an enemy fosuta and then play a card to straighten him, can his controlling player still negate it? is fosuta performing the negation?
thanks

EDIT: The text in Fosuta's ability creates a continuous effect that allows the player that used Fosuta's ability to choose whether Fosuta remains bowed. Fosuta is not performing the above effect.
The Direct Approach only prevents the target from performing actions.

Per this: viewtopic.php?f=59&t=81255
Fosuta's only trait is "After Fosuta enters play: lose 8 honor".
Shouldn't it be that:
He performed his open action when he used it. So now, Fosuta's *continuous effect* is already active, so it is no longer being performed.
I'm not sure what difference it makes, just wanted to have this clarified.
