Over on the phoenix forums we ran into a little question regarding Burn the Village, and how to protect ourselves from it with Wander Among the Stars.
BTV reads:
Limited: Each player may target one or two Personalities, each of whose base Gold Cost is equal to or lower than his controller's Stronghold's Gold production plus two. Destroy the targeted personalities. Remove all of them that are Shadowlands from the game.
and Wander Among the Stars reads:
Limited: Bow this Shugenja unless he is Void, and destroy this card: Draw a card. Reaction: Even if this card is in your discrd pile, before another player's action destroys three or more of your Personalities simultaneously, target your Shugenja and remove this card from the game: Negate their destruction.
Our question is regarding the order of targeting in this situation. Ideally, I would want to target one of my own personalities when he announces this action so when he picks 2 of mine, nobody gets destroyed if WAtS is in play. I need to know the order of targeting however. If the active player chooses first, and he picks 2 of my guys, I can then pick one of mine and one of his and I lose nobody and he loses one. If the OTHER player goes first (me) I can choose my guys, and he can just choose noone, and I still lose my guys.
What is the correct way to make this work? Help us! haha.
