Wrath of thunder and obfuscation

L5R CCG Rules board, 7 December 2009

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

Obfuscation Text Battle: Attach a target attachment from your hand or discard pile to your target Personality. You may take an additional action to use one of the attachment's base Battle abilities.

If I used wrath of thunder in a battle and that personality died. Could I then bring it in to play again with obfuscation and use it's ability a second time through obfuscation text?

For my own clarification would you please show me where in the rules it states such. I have been looking for over 2 hours without luck.

No. That would violate the rule that you can only use an ability once per turn, found here http://rules.l5r.com/CE_Abilities_and_a ... esignators: " Unlike traits, abilities can be used only once per turn(.)"

That the card was out of play does not "erase" that it has already been used that turn.

http://rules.l5r.com/CE_Effects#Tracking_rule: "'Memory' of the status of individual cards ends when the card enters a deck or a hand, or otherwise becomes both face-down and out of play (such as after a card in the deck or hand is shown). This includes dishonorable status, ongoing effects, and whether or not an ability has been used."
