Shiba Kosoku vs. Isawa Fosuta -Exp

L5R CCG Rules board, 6 December 2009

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Ok, heres the situation. My opponent has an Isawa Fosuta out and bowed. I play my Shiba Kosoku. On his the next turn, he uses Fosuta's ability to put a curse token on one of my many shugenja. I React with Kosoku to redirect the targeting to Kosoku since they are both in my home. My opponent tells me that I can't do that because the targeting is coming from a delayed effect. It seems to me that the the targeting is coming from an enemy players action.

Can I redirect with Kosoku and if not then why not?

Thanks.

Isawa Fosuta 2F, 5C - HR, 7 GC, 0 PH Spider Clan • Shadowlands • Shugenja • Inquisitor • Experienced • Unique • Onyx Champion After Fosuta enters play: Lose 8 Honor. Maho Open: Bow Fosuta: Lose 6 Honor. While Fosuta remains bowed, you may negate his straightening and, at the start of each turn, you may target a Personality and give him a -1F/-1C Curse token. After the next time this game Fosuta straightens or leaves play, destroy all Curse tokens.

* Name: Shiba Kosoku * Force: 4 * Chi: 3 * Honor: 5 * Cost: 7 * PHonor: 2 * Keywords: Phoenix Clan, Samurai, Yojimbo * Reaction: When another player's action would target one of your Shugenja at Kosoku's location: It targets Kosoku instead, if legal.

Yes you may, for the reason you give.

The effect and targeting of Fosuta's action may be delayed, but it's still that action doing it, as per Kosaku's text.
